Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

i played softball for the first time in four or five years. I su-uuu-ucked. I went 0 for 4, two hard hits that were just fielded well, one tumbler that went back to the pitcher, and another okay groundball that went to SS. We had a doubleheader, and in about the 4th inning of game 2 we got the rain that was supposed to stay in the north metro. That stuff came down pretty hard starting in the 7th. I could have done without that.

And I took my car in to the the struts replaced. I was still on the factory struts, it's a 2000 Altima with 156K on it. They had the thing all day and couldn't finish it because one side was just rusted tight while the other side was no problem to replace. The shop owner tells me that they had to torch off the mounting bracket of the one and they replaced the sway bars because they weren't really attached anymore yet still in place somehow. I think he may have just been saying that to grease the wheels because the two struts were so difficult. At any rate, I'm picking up the car from the shop tomorrow morning and I'm driving the laoner until then - a mid-90's Grand Caravan. Dodge can go suck it.

Dude, you're driving around a 15-year old minivan. I don't know what else you could expect.

The mechanics isn't the issue. It's the sight lines with the aggressively sloped windshield. The blind spots are huge.

MNS, I don't think I'll need a ride from the airport. I have to drop some equipment off at my truck, so I'm going to take a cab to work and drive from there to the bar. Also, its a ticketed show so we'll have to pre-purchase tickets if we end up going.

I win.

My project and its results have been fully confirmed and verified. All that's left is release and documentation... and then the real fun begins.... well, I'll still be documenting and writing when the fun begins but you get the picture. When the heat dies down hopefully I'll be able to get a paper published and some other nice stuff. I'd love to give a university talk... I may have the leverage to do so... I'll have to see... my former boss thinks I can at least net a talk for the Washington Statistical Society.

Longest, most frustrating, painfully interesting, epic, anxiety-inducing, bizarre eight months of my life... and I've been able to establish what I knew but couldn't prove... I'm **** good at what I do. Brought a complicated sensitive project from research to production in short order short on staff.

I can't wait until I can explain what I did... never around here... but I'm looking forward to giving talks... I learned a lot from this.
Congrats!!!

Monster's rep made me nostalgic for Yap rep. I have no idea why.
All out of steam now, figurative speaking of course. Motored right on thru phase III with the steam mop, and phase IV, putting the clothes back in the closet, eh, I just wasn't having that crazy gotta get this done feeling anymore. Just the CRAP!!! I have way too much CRAP!! feeling. Starting in on a good pile of stuff to pitch, like stuff that doesn't fit, and there's this one old show shirt I might have worn at one time, but me and mom don't have any idea if I ever did wear it. Either way, I'm pretty sure I didn't wear it for Senior pictures, and I'm pretty dang shirt I don't really have a use for it now anyways. Somebody else will find a use for it. Got most of the clothes back in the room now, just shorting out more of it, and planning on going thru more of whats still out in the living room later on this week.

Also, I am sure Mookie was thinking the same thing! :D

Well, who wasn't?

Morning Lodge.

Took jr to a skating clinic last night. He was reluctant to go, but I talked him into trying it once. I thought it would be a small group and it would help more with his skating. Instead it's a bigger group and it doesn't really push him that much - it's an adult group. He loved it and wants to go again (cause he's better than almost all these adults and they compliment him about how well he skates). I think he shouldn't go cause it's expensive for what he gets from it and no one pushes him there. I guess he can make about 3 more sessions before his pre-tryout clinic starts so I'll keep taking him, but it's not a good use of money. (Clown - it's Rob Little's clinic that JMS pushes all the time.) At least it's ice time...

Hey, I'm a slob, not a hoarder!! Hoarders have cats!!! :p

At work, waiting for my one client to show up today. Really hating Comcast right now because they're the ones that are suppose to provide internet service here to Balance. But its always going out on them. Honestly I don't see why they bother with paying for this crappy service. Every day it seems like they're running for a time off of their mobile phone's hot spot because Comcast cuts out again. Hell, the internet I have at home is better than this, and its all wireless radio from TC3. and heck, even before that, at least our DSL was pretty dang reliable as well, not like this Comcast shibby in Ann Arbor. :p
