Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So...should we abandon the plan to go to the fair as a group on the 27th and go on Labor Day instead? It seems like 'diva and Flashy will be able to make it and it might work better for shirtless guy also.

I am still planning on going on the 27th if anyone still wants to go then. I always like to go see the 4H beef parade of champions, which is the first Saturday.

Morning Lodge.

We have done Labor Day at the fair before and yes, it is awesome for discounts, but kind of depressing otherwise. A lot of things have run out or closed up already and the grounds are at their worst after 11 days of being trampled by the masses. We like going on the first couple days while there is still some grass and flowers and stuff and a little less trash (although they do an amazing job of cleaning the grounds considering). Never been too much for the barns and jr is offended by the odors there. Did go to visit an x-girlfriend as her family was showing their dairy cows. (Don't ask how I got hooked up with a farm girl from the St. Paul campus.)
It sounds like junior needs a month on the farm to toughen him up a bit. :p
The fair barns don't even smell bad. Try checking out a real barn, then you will know what they're supposed to be like.

Its booked. Drive to Green Bay today, fly Green Bay to Nashville Thursday via Detroit, fly home Friday night, drive to Grand Forks Monday morning. Hooray for points and miles and everything else I'm racking up for traveling so much. Looks to me like some free hotels and flights for hockey trips!

Sunday is best for me...or early labor day I guess...most likely I will be driving up to Virginia, MN at some point on labor day.

I'm with bb_dl on this. Goldy, tell your cake eater lad to suck it up. Those barns are likely dressed up barns anyways. Real barns are covered in shibby. Hell, I bet a lot of the kids there showing wear their rhinestone cowboy boots out in the state fair barns, not out in their family's barn. He don't like that idea, tell him he can go eat Tofu!!! :p

Morning all. went for a run and now I'm in the process of cleaning out my room. It hasn't really been done in a while. Being to think I should have just listened to that first instinct I had when that feeling came over me, and just go lay back down till that feeling went away.

We never wear our show clothes/boots in the barn at home.

Is Phase II where you light the pile on fire?
Would have been tempting, but I don't think mom would have liked that idea much. would have been less work overall I think. Actually have been taking one of those Shark steam cleaners all around the room and just blasting all the walls with steam. I feel like I should be making a commercial for them as I'm getting a ton of crap off of the walls, windows, the register, and in the corners as well.
I don't know, but I think Phase III is Profit. :D
Only if you know of a place that will pay for Dust bunnies by the pound.

Just filled my steamer back up and waiting for it to recharge so I can finish off the last wall in there. then its sweep the floor out once more and take a steamer mop to the floor. After that, its the whole process of taking everything I took out of the room back into the room, with the idea of thinning out some of the stuff that goes back into the room. :o

‎*manning my steam gun*
Anything that moves is a dust bunny!!!
Anything that stands still is a well-disciplined dust bunny!!!
*fires off a few more blasts of steam*

To those who asked about Dancing Girl's address: when I get it, you'll get it, which will be right after she gets it. They'll be moving into their new place soon.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I win.

My project and its results have been fully confirmed and verified. All that's left is release and documentation... and then the real fun begins.... well, I'll still be documenting and writing when the fun begins but you get the picture. When the heat dies down hopefully I'll be able to get a paper published and some other nice stuff. I'd love to give a university talk... I may have the leverage to do so... I'll have to see... my former boss thinks I can at least net a talk for the Washington Statistical Society.

Longest, most frustrating, painfully interesting, epic, anxiety-inducing, bizarre eight months of my life... and I've been able to establish what I knew but couldn't prove... I'm **** good at what I do. Brought a complicated sensitive project from research to production in short order short on staff.

I can't wait until I can explain what I did... never around here... but I'm looking forward to giving talks... I learned a lot from this.

Thought of you guys.

Amusing story- Lil has been running with a teammate who loves high mileage. 8-10 miles a day on the days they aren't running with the team. He doesn't find it hard at all. They have a lot of fun. The other kid doubles when they have practice and runs another 4 over the 5 they run in AM. The teammate been busy the last few days. Tim always slacks off when he isn't running with the kid- running 3-4miles. He is really getting in great shape and I know the kid is going to be busy the next couple of weeks so I asked him if he was running just to be social or did he want to excel like M* who runs because he loves the sport.... cos if he wanted to excel he couldn't make up the miles later. It doesn't work that way. I headed off to work and figured that he would go run 3 and call it a day.

So I call tonight and he tells me he called his coach to see what his next run of the day should be and the coach said he shouldn't do a 2 a day today. Oh, I said, how much did you run today? 10 miles sub 7:30 pace and in the middle ran up the very steep 100 yd hill at a sprint a few times. I almost laughed out loud. I apparently got under his skin a little :D He is so literal he kills me. I forgot he has no idea why or how people run doubles. He translated it into run 2 times a day no matter what :p

Monster's rep made me nostalgic for Yap rep. I have no idea why.
