Hm, free place to stay, if you're here on Sunday night you can go to TK's and hang out with the melmacs and us, discounts at the Fair since it's the last day, what MNS said about it being a legal requirement, and did we mention IT'S THE FAIR?!

Plus, there's a bus that goes directly to the fairgrounds. One of the stations/park-n-rides is about 2 miles from my place.

I will pass this information along. I think his concern is the trip from my family's cabin (east of Marquette) to the Cities.

I'm most looking forward to sweet corn ice cream and deep fried chocolate chip cookie dough, plus all of the regular favorites: Mouth Trap Cheese Curds, Big Fat Bacon, Donna's BBQ Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, Dairy Building Chocolate Malt, Sweet Aunt Martha Cookies/All you can drink milk, Spaghetti and Meatballs on a stick, deepfried twinkies, tater tot hotdish on a stick...the list keeps going on

Didn't realize the food was so diverse (figured it was mostly "_______ on-a-stick"). Someday, I may have to make a pilgrimage...

Mini-donuts to with the All You Can Drink Milk, Big Fat Bacon, Funnel Cakes, alligator bratwursts, gallon'o'fries (for the uninformed, you can get a bucket of thick-cut fries that you may as well crawl into and start eating), Italian sausage, cream puffs, and more mini-donuts.

Fade: you can probably spend $100 just on different food at the fair. It's amazing.

Edit: you know how you go about seeing things at the fair? You start at one food booth, and then go to the next, and check non-food booths out while you eat.

Huh, the way I always did the fair was to sit in the barn until I got hungry, then walk to get food and eat on my way back to the barn.


Mel, could you FB message me the newlywed couple from last weekend's address. I need to send the card I forgot at the hotel. Thanks!

Kinda just realized at just how close I was to getting to take that Hundred Dollar bill off of the front desk hands tonight. Mike was kinda hoping I had a 20 on me, as I already had four 20's in my tip draw at the end of the day. we figured it out and 72 of it was from today, and there was an extra ten that didn't get paid out from Sunday as the internet was down before they could run the card. The kicker was that I did have 3 different spots on my schedule where I could have fitted another hour massage in. one of them would have been tight, and the other one I could have done a 90 minute one instead of two separate hours. Either way, the 72 is still my best I've done for tips yet. The kicker is that I was holding back a mild cough about all day today.

If Diva skips the fair she should be run out of state. I think living in Wisconsin would be fitting punishment!

So thhaaaaatt'ss why he's dragging his heels on it. Oh HELL no. I compromised by living in an apartment from which we can see WI, but that's as close as I'm coming to living there.

Actually, once I mentioned the details Brent passed along last night, he warmed to the idea. That and I told him a significant chunk of today's paycheck is being socked away for that weekend.
Worst case, we come back to Duluth, I drop him back at the apartment and catch a bus to the Cities. Either way, I'm making this happen.

Morning Lodge.

We have done Labor Day at the fair before and yes, it is awesome for discounts, but kind of depressing otherwise. A lot of things have run out or closed up already and the grounds are at their worst after 11 days of being trampled by the masses. We like going on the first couple days while there is still some grass and flowers and stuff and a little less trash (although they do an amazing job of cleaning the grounds considering). Never been too much for the barns and jr is offended by the odors there.:rolleyes: Did go to visit an x-girlfriend as her family was showing their dairy cows. (Don't ask how I got hooked up with a farm girl from the St. Paul campus.:eek:)
