Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

TMJ blows. I don't have it, but I know a lot of people that have or do. Interestingly, every single one played/plays the clarinet. Must have something to do with the embouchure.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

No, but the Asian place would have been good for relieving stress. Just saying.

She offered me something called "joy-joy" for $50, but it was expensive, and she couldn't explain what it was, so I passed.

Morning!

3-day weekend, booze tonight, yada yada yada. :)

Congrats 'Diva and Dx.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Congrats Diva!

I also have some great news to share. Apparently my interview went really, really well. I was offered the position on Monday. Huge bump in pay, an incredible benefits package, and a bevy of other perks. My hands were literally shaking when I left my manager's office after she offered me the position.
congrats diva & dx

So I'm getting treatment now for TMJ or TMD, whichever acronym people like to use at the various medical offices. Basically, all the muscles around my jaw, neck and shoulders are too tight and they've been causing me almost constant headaches for the past 15 years or so. I just thought they were part of life. The physical therapist I'm now seeing thinks that I should start on regular massage therapy regimen. For a guy who's only had one massage, this seems really odd. And of course I'm told this after the Asian "massage" parlor in Apple Valley gets busted. :(
The only thing that keeps me OK is a massage every 2 weeks. Without it I have massive migraine HA.

Its worth a shot. Its not going to be very comfortable, as that the MT is going to be going after a lot of little muscles in and around the jaw that are quite frankly, hard to get to. In school, I ended up having to use my pinky finger for a lot of it, as my other fingers were just too big for some of the spots we were looking to hit. I could get them, but its not really my bag. those that do it a lot can usually make a good career of it though, especially when they get in good and tight with a few dentist, orthadonics, and other assorted professionals that would erefer clients to them.

And frankly, the Asian place probably wouldn't give the Interoral massage you would need anyways.

These 2 posts, back to back made me laugh.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good Morning, Lodge!

Management took it somewhat well yesterday. The rest of the company finds out today. Get this...my manager doesn't even know what I do and he is the one that placed me in my current position. I spent yesterday afternoon with the office manager writing my own employment ad. Yes, I did have some fun with that. :D

On another note, Mr. wore Black should find out today if he gets that job in Hopkins.

Congrats diva and dx!

Good morning.

Back in the Twin Cities, a day and a half earlier than expected.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Congrats 'diva and dx. That's great news. I have to type up my mid-year review today. Boss is on vacation this week, I'm on vacation next week. Need to get it done before I leave. We've already had a meeting about it. She wants me to start taking more of a leadership role with the others on our team given that I'm a grade level higher than the others. She says it's another step in my development. I really don't want to be a manager. That said, if this is something I can do to help lighten her work load, I do't mind doing it. But she's going to have to tell the others that I'm going to be scheduling a bi-weekly with them. I don't feel comfortable taking that on without her. Not sure how the others would react.

$50 is expensive? Don't you spend more than that every week going to the hick bar with Akmed the taxi driver? :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning Lodge.

Congrats to 'Diva and DX! Good luck Scarlet and Clown.

Met a Hahvad mom at the rink this morning.I assume one of her kids must either teaching or getting skating lessons there. I think they're all driving age so not sure why she had to hang around.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Haha, something like that.

Actually, it went quite well. Basically, they admitted that between all the chaos going on at the store, the two owners being stupidly busy, and the two outgoing managers I'm singlehandedly replacing being, well, bitches who flat out refused to show me anything unless threatened, I didn't get trained nearly as well as they would have liked and yet somehow I'm managing to do most of the things they want me to be doing in this role quite well. I was officially promoted to the assistant manager and director of marketing and sponsorships, put on salary and given benefits (retirement, health insurance, and paid time off FTW!), congratulated, and promised to be taken through the things I wasn't shown ASAP. I'd be running wild through the streets of Duluth with a BAC of .OMG right now if I didn't have to meet up with their financial planner guy at 9am to square away my retirement stuff.

The health insurance part of it has me the most excited. I haven't had it since I was 21, and FM is staying on his parents for as long as he can so I wouldn't have been able to get on his once we got married. I can finally, you know, go to the doctor if I need to! :)

Congrats Diva!

Congrats, both of you!

She was just scouting out a future boy toy.

I don't go every week. I'm not bbdl. And his name is Mohammed Ali. No, not making that up. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

And its not a hick bar. It is in St. Louis Park and 98% of the people there are from the suburbs.
