Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Yeah I was down in the basement here then I came back upstairs and realize that it was cooler upstairs than downstairs.
I realized it was time to turn the air off when I stepped outside after I looked across the street and saw that the neighbors still had their front door open at 11 at night.

I know but you usually yawn when the clock has a 2 not a 1 at the front.
For a split second I thought this was another tooth joke.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So i'm officially headed home tomorrow, but still waiting on flight info. With ANY luck on my side, I'll be home around 10pm, plenty of time before last call. With NO luck on my side, I get 1am arrival, and will most likely just throw my eggs into Friday nights basket.

Whatever, tomorrow is the best day on the boat usually, but tomorrow isn't usual anyways... ;)

There's nothing superficial about holding you accountable for your actions. If the dad is looking out for his son's best interests, and if he knows any of these things about you, he'd be saying repeatedly, "You can do far better than that." :p

Somebody has been reading Molly's wall.... ;)

Only I've thought it was the other way around.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

The long day is over.

Now we need this long week to be over. Found out today that we're losing 4 part-timers because of the approaching school year, and a full-timer is going to part-time, so he can attend some sort of mechanic's course at the local college.

Of course, I haven't heard of any interviewing going on.

Hey- what happened with diva's review?

Her review either went well, and now she's passed out with a smile on her face and an empty bottle of whiskey in her hand, or it went poorly and now she's passed out with a scowl on her face and an empty bottle of whiskey in her hand.

Haha, something like that.

Actually, it went quite well. Basically, they admitted that between all the chaos going on at the store, the two owners being stupidly busy, and the two outgoing managers I'm singlehandedly replacing being, well, bitches who flat out refused to show me anything unless threatened, I didn't get trained nearly as well as they would have liked and yet somehow I'm managing to do most of the things they want me to be doing in this role quite well. I was officially promoted to the assistant manager and director of marketing and sponsorships, put on salary and given benefits (retirement, health insurance, and paid time off FTW!), congratulated, and promised to be taken through the things I wasn't shown ASAP. I'd be running wild through the streets of Duluth with a BAC of .OMG right now if I didn't have to meet up with their financial planner guy at 9am to square away my retirement stuff.

The health insurance part of it has me the most excited. I haven't had it since I was 21, and FM is staying on his parents for as long as he can so I wouldn't have been able to get on his once we got married. I can finally, you know, go to the doctor if I need to! :)

Its is a nice feeling isn't it?? To be able to afford to be sick.

Well, I know my parents would have helped out with costs if something had happened, but it's nice to know I can have that kind of thing taken care of if I need it.

Congrats Diva!

I also have some great news to share. Apparently my interview went really, really well. I was offered the position on Monday. Huge bump in pay, an incredible benefits package, and a bevy of other perks. My hands were literally shaking when I left my manager's office after she offered me the position.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Congrats to all on their job successes!

(I did love the part of "running through the streets of Duluth with a BAC of .OMG"). :D

And dx, Toby Keith's on Fri? Mel and her new hubby HN are in town, and they are joining the usual suspects there.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

possibly but I've got a crap ton to do this week(end) before I leave for a week at the lake... Remind me Friday and I'll see what the situation is.

Wait, Kevin Spacey is going to be there?! lulz

I dunno about that, but Redfoot might be.

Toss me your number via FB message, I'll throw you a text on Fri, then.

Yeah, it was kinda scary there once the fog lifted from my wicked headache after that horse whacked me upside the head almost 2 years ago. Luckily, I was able to get them to pretty much right me off instead of sending me a bill for it. Probably didn't hurt that I kept mentioning the dry blood on the ceiling of the MRI machine.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So I'm getting treatment now for TMJ or TMD, whichever acronym people like to use at the various medical offices. Basically, all the muscles around my jaw, neck and shoulders are too tight and they've been causing me almost constant headaches for the past 15 years or so. I just thought they were part of life. The physical therapist I'm now seeing thinks that I should start on regular massage therapy regimen. For a guy who's only had one massage, this seems really odd. And of course I'm told this after the Asian "massage" parlor in Apple Valley gets busted. :(

Its worth a shot. Its not going to be very comfortable, as that the MT is going to be going after a lot of little muscles in and around the jaw that are quite frankly, hard to get to. In school, I ended up having to use my pinky finger for a lot of it, as my other fingers were just too big for some of the spots we were looking to hit. I could get them, but its not really my bag. those that do it a lot can usually make a good career of it though, especially when they get in good and tight with a few dentist, orthadonics, and other assorted professionals that would erefer clients to them.

And frankly, the Asian place probably wouldn't give the Interoral massage you would need anyways.
