Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days
So I got a call this morning, around 10:30, that my mom had fallen, it was bad, and that they're taking her to the ER. It turns out that she fell as a result of pain due to a kidney infection. She had been screaming bloody murder when I got the call, everything hurt and they were scared it was her neck or spine, but there turned out to be no broken bones. She's in the hospital now, overnight for observation so they can move her off a broad spectrum antibiotic and on to something more targeted when the lab work finishes.
While waiting in the ER, my brother and I were talking while my niece was looking more than a little bored. I asked my brother if he had any games downloaded to his Android phone, to which he replied no. I take the liberty of downloading Angry Birds onto the phone (it's free for Android phones), to placate my niece, show her the very limited knowledge I have on how to play the game, and she's off and playing. Not ten minutes later my brother is by her side watching. Then another minute or two later he has the phone in his hand, playing the game, giving sound effects aloud, and various things like that in an attempt to entertain his daughter. A half-hour later my brother and his daughter are fighting each other over who gets to play. Amazing.
I've only ever played the game a minute or two on my buddy's phone once, and just knew it to be a popular game. I guess it can also be known for both bonding and separating families inside an hour's time.
