Thanks, from what my dad said (he went and visited the family yesterday I think) everybody is doing as could be hoped for. He has been battling health issues for a while, and his quality of life had diminished significantly, to the point of barely being able to get around with a walker. Never easy to lose a loved one, but I think everybody involved realizes that he's in a better place and glad that things weren't drawn out for a lengthy period of time.

hey guys....

silly question... i like buying undershirts from Old Navy 'cause they're fairly well durable and usually come in a good range of colors... i use them mainly as undershirts to accent polos and other shirts. Lately old navy hasn't had the selection like they used to. Does anybody else around here get colored t-shirts? Target/Walmart/Kmart brand doesn't seem nearly up to snuff... i'm more disappointed than anything else. Its nice having good quality options.

feast or famine at work lately. Friday night I got 50 dollars in tips and was able to do the front desk the favor of getting rid of a fifty for them. Saturday night, 5 bucks, and hell, that one was from a guy who did a 90 minute session. I know of my massages was from a trade, but its kinda wierd to get a tip from a coworker. Guess I should just be happy that I got the 5 tonight.

Oh, and fun fact of the day..... 69 days until college football starts!!! :D

I get mine from blankshirts.com, I have been happy with both the PC61 and the Gildan 2000 brands, but I like heavier weight t-shirts. They both have a good set of colors and I can generally get 12 XL-shirts for ~$50-60.

I never tip my massage therapist. I treat her like I would any healthcare professional. I also don't know anyone who tips her - we all go to the ame place. Maybe it is different when you go to a spa?

yawn. went to bed around midnight30, had to wake up at 430 and now get to unload barges allllll day. hopefully we'll be done by 9pm tonight or so, maybe a little earlier if all goes well/smoothly. Can't wait to sleep tonight.

So, Zac Brown Band is pretty good.

We got soaked when the afternoon storm passed through, but we kinda expected it. MNS and I just stood under the overhang at the liquor vendor and chatted with the women doling out the booze. It was a sound plan since we didn't have to go anywhere to refill our mugs.

There's different schools of thought on it. Usually, if the massage is the MT's own business, you really don't have to worry about tipping so much as the mass itself is all of their money, minus whatever they have to pay for their space, equipment and whatnot to keep the business in the black ideally. Where I'm working at right now, I'm really an independent contractor, who gets paid by the office there to do the massages, only that I get a cut of it, about 25%. There's other stuff like retention bonuses that will be kicking in soon for me as well, plus the longer you stay the bigger your cut becomes from your regular clients. Thus, from about 4 one hour massages in a day, I'm making 60 bucks from all of that. The first of August here I'm picking up another shift on Monday because we have another therapist leaving, and that they kinda want to have a guy on that shift as well, which will bring me up to being there at Balance for about 20 hours a week. If I'm fully booked for all of those shifts, that's 16 one hour massages, for a total for the week of 240, but its not always possible to be fully booked up for the day. Plus, I'm going to have to pay all of the taxes on that later on, so I'm really not even making that even. So, you could see where I wouldn't mind too much in getting those tips. Personally, I would love to be in a position to be in a place is the only tips I would need is for my clients to recommend me to their friends and family, but I'm a few years away from being able to do that. Nature of the Beast right now.

No problem, if all you want are blank shirts either to wear or to screen print on (which is how I found it) it's a great source.

FYI, I don't know if it was just an effort to cut costs, but my last batch of XL PC61 shirts seemed to be a little smaller and shorter than previous purchases. More annoying than anything, but not much of a problem when I wear them under a different shirt.
