Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Work has finally died down a bit today. There is a bunch of **** going on with this issue I'm dealing with, but we are in a waiting mode until after a meeting early next week. So, because of that, I've been able to spend time setting up and playing with our new emissions analyzer! I have been waiting for months for this thing. After finally convincing the higher-ups that this is a necessary piece of equipment, about a month and a half ago, it finally showed up late yesterday. Yay for spending $15k of someone else's money! (but seriously, this thing is essential for the work that we're getting into)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Just drove through (stopping in the middle, of course) my first lock while on the boat. Went reallly well, and I'll be doing it tonight as well. Wheeeeeeee.

Enjoy the beach 'diva, I'll say I miss the sights of Duloot in the summer from a couple years ago.

Already above 90 down here at 10am when we were in the lock, atleast I'm not in RalphPa or Patman's land where the heat index is supposed to be around 120. Stay cool, guys.

Hooboy... I have an above ground train station on the way out... I'm going to predict 100 at the close of work... I also have another kickball "free beer" party later on... since those are usually overcrowded it should be interesting... and warm... quite warm... and if I can my head around the fact I've succeeded *crosses fingers* in my career making project it should be a good time

Dining room carpet looks pretty good after steam cleaning and drying it. Obviously not perfect since i've lived here 5 years and only been able to vacuum it to this point.

Just think, you could have been enjoying a beer with 'diva on the beaches of Lake Superior for the last 2 hours.

Weather Channel says temp is 96, feels like 93. Windchill?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Just got out of the pool here at Jenna's. Been in it since 1pm. We were good and waited till 5pm to crack open our first Smirnoff Ices of the day.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Hit 95 at my house, how, being so near 59 degree water is beyond me. Not really beyond me as the wind was off the land but.....

Congrats. Heading down into the pit (Lil's name for the finished basement) to be cooler than the 89 it is in my house.

89 in the house? Ugh. I've got the thermostat set at 75 here. If you're wearing a shirt and shorts, it's not bad at all.

Wow 80+ dead in Oslo shooting now.

Yep, very sad, hope that the families affected can cope with this as best they can.

Had a pretty close family friend (almost a second father to my dad, really) pass away this morning due to very advanced lung cancer. I guess they kinda just figured it out and he was just made aware of it a few days ago. Very sad, as he was pretty much as genuine a guy as could be. Same age as my grandfather was when he passed away almost 3 years ago now, 79. Spent several hunting seasons around him, definitely going to miss his stories.

On a brighter note, drove through unofficial lock #2 tonight (we didn't log the 1st this am, that was more an educational lock). Went pretty well again, then drove up to the lock we're waiting to go through now, and did '**** near perfect.' Gonna go to sleep with a bit of a smile on my face... still a ton to learn, but I'm definitely getting the basics down so far for sure.
