Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! terrible tuesday.
Why do I keep waking up at 5:30? This is the morning I can sleep in.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good Morning Lodge.

I've been affected by the shutdown. Twice I would have stopped at a rest stop to pee and had to go to a gas station instead. Also, our CEO and managing partner are coming to visit our office in a couple weeks. We'd like to take them fishing, but don't want to have to drive them to 'Sconny to do so and we can't buy them non-res licenses.

Shirtless Guy told me that you can still go fishing even if you don't have a license. If you get caught, you tell them that you weren't able to buy one, and they have you sign some form, that is some agreement that you will purchase one within a certain amount of time of the government coming back online.

So I read it from some guy on the interweb who heard it from some guy who deosn't wear a shirt. That'll fly with the CEO. :p

What lake are you hoping to fish? If it has a resort on it or a marina, I would try calling someone there and asking their opinion. It would be very hard to get ahold of the right person within the DNR without the secretaries and such around but it worth inquiring. Maybe even stop at the local sporting goods store and ask their opinion.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I know that if the shutdown lasts until deer hunting, they are going to have a bit of a problem on their hands. There isn't a deer hunter I know that is going to not go hunting because they can't get a license. We'll just stay in the big woods, where the DNR would have a very tough time even finding us. (1000's of acres of woods)

I wonder if they'll be so forgiving of a couple bigwigs from New York CIty.
Well I asked because I had a guided fishing trip in Minnesota and a friend of mine from Wisconsin was suppose to go with me. He ended up canceling because is daughter had a high fever and vomiting (first time badly sick).

If we take them out it'll be with a guide as we don't have enough good boats available.

New York bigwigs should be able to buy some boats for you! Or go fishing on the St. Croix River, it isn't that far away, and the license issue is pretty much mute then.
