Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

You're board? Fix the missing threads!

;)

That just doesn't make sense, when they asked for nominations. Maybe Ed Trefzger can fix it.

Afternoon, Lodge. I'm leeching off McDonalds' wifi until the intarwebs come to my apartment... people-watching at the University - Snelling McDonalds is fun, lol. Also, little kids high on ice cream are hilarious.

My gut feeling is that at least part of this wasn't on purpose. The question is do they have the ability and interest to fix it. I don't think that they have purged anything in years until now. I suspected this was because hard-disk space has become so cheap.

What makes the least sense to me is 1. that they applied things uniformly over all of the forums, and 2. that they used the date of the first post in each thread, not the most recent, as the criterion.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So I spent 2 hours last night making one of those angry Hitler parody videos about Tech and the uberconference kerfuffle. As soon as I finished and saved for the last time, I tried to watch it fullscreen and Windows Movie Maker crashed and corrupted the whole file. Twitch Boy Cannot Make Nice Things.

I want Kraft Dinner.

I want a monkey. Haven't you always wanted a monkey?

Technically sound people still use WinBlows?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Apparently the branch that fell on my power lines knocked loose my meter box. The electricity is back on and working with no problem, according to the guy with the electric company, but I'm supposed to fix the meter box. I am thinking that it would be less than my deductible to have it professionally taken care of, and I don't want to spend money on it, so I'm going to try to apply some african engineering fix the thing myself. (If the problem is simply re-mounting the box, then it should be a piece of cake)

In case you wind up as a greasy smear and a puff of smoke, it was nice knowing you. :p

You lie.

Within the next one hour and fifty-three minutes I will have a new wash machine delivered to my house. ...The excitement is killing me.

Are there any instructions on how to add the subtitles to a video like that? I wanted to make one of those for my last going away, but was never able to figure it out.

Aw, come on, Windows 7 isn't THAT terrible. It's not like it's Vista or anything.

Apple's just too overpriced for what I need. I do have an iPad which I love for quick computing on the go, however.

And don't even start with Linux. I'm not nearly enough of a masochist to install that. (Yet.)

I have Win7 on my HTPC setup... frankly I wasn't going to try to find a linux equivalent (agreed, pure masochism) and there's no sense in buying Mac's equivalent. Thought about finding a way to Hackintosh it... but I decided figuring out the parts was more of a headache than it was worth.

Mac doesn't do everything... though my next laptop (just like the current one) will be a Mac.

Awesome, takes picks if your screwdriver lands in the wrong place. The potential of those unfused wires will make quite a show.

If I would have to end up opening up the box I would shut off the power first. It looks I should be able to fix it without ever exposing any wires. Frankly, it wasn't as bad as the guy from the electric company said.

Ding. Duck brand isn't so good.

I think I'd trust the electric company guy myself. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Was Board down? Where is everyone?
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! moanin' monday
Power outage this morning; didn't come back on til roughly 5:30.

Evening, Lodge. Class was hard today, but we made shallow-poached salmon with a lemon-dill beurre blanc, pears poached in red wine, and orange-poached chicken breasts. Oh, and cut a lot of potatoes.
