Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Interesting last 10 or so hours. Around midnight my wife let the dog out. Soon after we got a strong smell of skunk! Yup, the dog took a direct hit in the chest (luckily for her nothing in the face). My wife immediately mixed up some hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish detergent and started bathing the dog. This was probably around 12:30-ish.

Needless to say the entire house still wreaked this morning so we bathed the dog again. She is finally starting to smell normal but the house... that's another story. We don't think the dog got on any of the furniture and she slept on the floor in the bedroom on an old comforter. It and all the towels are outside airing out (probably destined for the trash). I've got 2 big fans ventilating the house and I'm hoping for the best. When my wife gets home after 12 she's gonna wash the floors downstairs and then figure out what to do around where the dog slept.

Exactly how I wanted to spend my day off! :(

Tomato juice exists for a reason, and it's not because old people drink it. ;)

Nah - my folks convinced me to get some oversized hybrid monstrosity with shocks, a gel seat and a weird bent frame.
Those are commuter bikes - built mainly with comfort in mind. It'd probably work for long distance riding, but you'd likely look like a total d**che. :D

I'd have to know what the specific make/model is of it before I render final judgment, however.

Pfffft. All my rides are morning rides (evening for me, morning for the rest of you dip****s). :p

25 miles ain't bad. I did that yesterday after taking a couple days off post-Century to let my legs recover.
Well I was all sorts of confused after the comment earlier!:p

I'm doing a triathalon second weekend of august, which is 26 miles riding, so I'm not too worried per my performance this morning.

It's such a beautiful Minnesota day today. Just unbelieveable.

My current bike isn't exactly set up for it either.

What do you mean by that? No water bottle cage? ****ty seat? Horribly maintained?
I think he means the training wheels are still on it! ;P

Actually, the vet suggested NOT using that. The peroxide/baking soda/soap seems to be the most suggested followed by vinegar doosh.

I have found that the best solution to getting rid of skunk smell is a .40 caliber hollow point.

(I shouldn't say things like that. Sorry to the rest of the world)

Aw, you don't have to shoot yourself over skunk smell. Save that for if you knock up one of those girls at your pig roast this weekend.

;)

Yeah, my face fell half off this morning. And while working today is when my arms decided to finally blister a little. So, after a post-work shower, I'm in full peel mode. :(

Ecckkk! Sounds a bit like my last client today. He wasn't crispy anymore, but he was peeling pretty bad. Not fun to always having to wipe your hands off on the sheet to get rid of the excess dead skin globs. :p

I had chunks come off my forehead that were as thick as a potato chip.

Icckkk. Although that might have been an improvement with bigger chunks. Not as pebbly and easier to wipe off. Of course you probably wouldn't think much of getting that massaged right now, even if it was at one of those places that does the happy endings. You probably wouldn't even want to put your face in a face cradle right now.
