Otherwise, Hoovs covered the main points from our angle, except to say that HuskyNation's and melmac's parents are awesome and throw a darn good party.

This. 1000 times this. This shindig did not disappoint, as it was just as or even more awesome than we all anticipated.
FM and I spent Sunday night up in Copper Harbor, hit both their parade and the Gay parade today, and then made our way back to Daloot, where it finally decided to be summer. We watched both Duluth's fireworks and Superior's fireworks on the grass behind our apartment building.
Now, 2 days here, then I head back to MI for a week in TC. :)

HuskyNation's parents/family didn't believe what they were seeing at some points (first off, the tailgate), but yes, all parents ruled. Of course, many of the contingent knew that about mel's mom from last fall when she made the MN-MTU series in Houghton. :)
