I have that setup for my family and distant 'friends' to hide certain sections, but my grandma picked up on it right away (not that I care, since I'm 24 :p). It's not that hard to figure out if someone is hiding stuff, so if goldy is suspicious, he can just demand to see the kid's account settings and remove the filter.
Ditto. I always get harassed about it at family gatherings. My dad took it a step further and just did it right back to me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

I'm on it, but just because a friend invited me. I still only have one contact and haven't logged on in a couple weeks. I don't think i'll ever really use it.

Hrm, OK. My boss just invited me on there. I'll probably end up joining.

In other news, my mom is awesome. Just posted on my Facebook:

...I offer my deepest sympathies on the end of hockey season. I know that after tonight you will have a countdown till the puck drops again! Love, me.

You're not getting off until late June?! Good god, man! Do yourself, and everyone around you a favor, and take care of things before then.

heh. heh. heh. Didn't even realize how big of a softball I put over the plate there, good job outta ya.

Although I gotta be careful too, can't get too carried away before I see the girl in a couple weeks ;)

Has anyone here ever used LinkedIn?

yeah... updates on friends are less frequent than other places like twitter and fb. but i get to see who changes jobs and who's doing what at work if they choose to share.

CC to ctf: GLM and his ilk are backing me up and basically saying your friend who I'm having the exchange with on Facebook is a bit off base. I'm not going to extend the fight on there, but just thought you'd appreciate that information. :)

Hahaha. Fantastic. :)
Said friend is actually the guy who I ALWAYS debated over everything with in MS & HS. Everyone always said we were destined to end up together... what they don't know is I've had a hardcore fancy for him since 7th grade. :p
Of course, nothing pleases me more than him being wrong.

He did mention to me an amusing Tweet from tonight. "The Sedin twins star in 'Two Girls, No Cup'"

Mr is texting like a madman. He knows the head of rehab for the Bruins. Like the guy is going to text back right now..... :p

congrats, boston fans. I'm thrilled to see peverley get his name on the cup, since he's an SLU grad.

Headed to sleep soon, dunno how much access to the internet i'll have in the next 2 weeks, sounds like my tugboat heads over near Huntsville Alabama fairly often.

Another cool feature of Wranglers: there's a combination you can perform with your ignition that will cause it to display any outstanding check engine codes.

Thats for all Chrysler vehicles going back about 12 years. Well, all with a digital odometer.

My mom's 94 Dakota had that. The light ring surrounding the ignition would blink out the code. My auto maintenance teacher told me that it had been a feature for quite a few years by that point.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

When I was young, it seemed like every holiday, we celebrated at my grandparents' house. At one point, in the mid-80's, there were 4 generations present, depending on the holiday, especially at Christmas. Two of my grandmother's brothers, Uncle Don and Uncle Eugene, really enjoyed sports and were really great people. Kindest people in the world. Uncle Eugene's wife, Aunt Maryann, was a short Polish woman. And when I mean short and Polish, I mean she didn't crack 5 foot tall, and she-came-over-on-a-boat-in-the-1920's Polish. The three of them lived together and were great people. I never heard a cross word out of any of them at any time. Oh, and Uncle Eugene and Uncle Don, let's say they enjoyed a good drink or two. :) They polished off a fifth of whiskey at my high school graduation in very short order, and were no worse for the wear. You would have guessed that they were drinking Diet Coke. And none of them seemed to age for about 25+ years. If you looked at him, you would swear that Uncle Eugene hadn't aged since about 1978.

Before this evening, there were three people that I was 100%, absolutely convinced, were firmly entrenched and comfortable in heaven. Grandma went there in 1993. Uncle Don followed suit about 7-8 years ago. Aunt Maryann did the same in 2007. And if you knew these people like I did, you would be equally convinced.

I found out this evening that Uncle Eugene joined them Tuesday morning. He was 86 and was not in good health, but this one is still extremely tough to take. He was one helluva man. If I can find it in myself to treat people even close to half as well as he did, I'm doing pretty damn well in life.

Hammer: That sucks. I know how it is with long-living familes (knew two great-grandmothers and one great grandfather well into my teens, and they were old, not some 17YO pregnancy thing, and it's *ing tougher, I think, because of the multi-generational thing.

Hang tough, man.
