Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

both of you are Gopher fans, therefore you're both douchy. :p

I am NOT a gopher fan! To think, I was even considering chearing for UND this weekend.

when JHM asked me who Colgan Airlines was, I immediately recommended he take a different flight. Being that they are owned by Pinnacle Airlines Inc. I know that they are an inept airline with a shoddy training department. Their pilots are the washouts of other airlines.

Glad I didn't know that at the time. Then again, I only ever flew them once, every other time it was NWA/Delta through MSP or DTW on to BUF.

Afternoon all, sitting here bored at work. :(

I do think I have the girlfriend talked into going to the CCHA's this weekend at the Joe. You guys promise you'll all play nice with her right??

Even this. Probably not the best wording for this crowd.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

I returned to Denver late Saturday after spending a week seeing to my mom's first seven days in the rehab center after her hip replacement surgery. One of my brothers was there for the first twenty-four hours of my stay and then had to leave. Our other brother is there now.

In short, my mom has made steady progress since being placed in the rehab center. Many of the medical staff attending her remarked to me about her determination to work hard through her rehab process. She still needs to gain strength and flexibilty on a post-operative basis, but my assessment of the situation is: it's probably another two to three weeks before she'll be able to be discharged from the rehab center and go back to her home. It's not a question of if she will go home, but rather a question of when she'll go home.

The first week was a tough one emotionally and physically for her [and me too]. I speak from first hand experience when I say it's torturous seeing an elderly parent confronted with the physical challenge of recovering and rehabilitating from major orthopedic surgery.

For those of you who have been and continue to pray for my mom and our family I thank you.
Continued thoughts adn prayers for your family, Shot.

Good afternoon, Lodge!

Good Evening, Lodge!

I got my beer supply for the Final Five today. 8 bottles of Baltka to share. $2!

goldy: I got your beer, too.

Cake Eater IPA?

That or Old Farts' Porter.

Sorry, LWB, I will not be at the F5 after all. I'm going to be traveling Thursday and most of Fridayon business, and at the peewee team's season ending party on Saturday. I think we'll go to the peewee A State toruney Friday night to see my kid's buddies playing. Someone else can collect/dirnk the beer for me. Give it to any random, non-douchy, Gopher or Denver fan (if you can find one).

Good afternoon Lodge.

Looks like next year little g will be involved with hockey. (pending little g wants to play)

I spent a couple hours with the founder last week and there is a good chance that a team will be starting in my neck of the woods.

Very cool!
Good luck!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Way cool!

Has he expressed any interest in hockey? Or are you just hoping?

He wants to play hockey. It sucks that he has a disability because he is going to be a big kid and if he has half his dads hockey skills he would be quite the stud. :p

Other things on his bucket list: Be on American Idol, ride a bike, be a teacher and have an office like his dad and last but not least have a wife that he can sleep in bed with while wearing no pajamas. :D

I may have missed something along the line, but doesn't he use a walker? If so how does one use a stick?

He has been walker free for five or six months or maybe even longer now.

Skating will be very difficult if not impossible for him in the near future or longer though. More than likely he will sit in a specialized chair. I will be pushing him around the ice as he finesses his way through traffic. :)

Skating is impossible for lots of people. :D

That sucks! I actually am keeping my end of the deal and you won't be there. I'll split it with brent.

It does indeed suck. Blame Lucia.

And my bosses - who all decided my presence was urgently needed at two job sites in terrible states (WI and IA).:(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Sooooo, it seems like my dorm building is restricted to campus for all of Thursday, ie. St. Patty's Day, because some ****head decided to go around and "graffiti" some doors with blackboard chalk. Yep, you heard right. This sounds like a challenge, because I WILL be getting slam-bam-boozled on Thursday, whether it's out in NYC, or in my room... and it's a dry campus.
