I actually like having long layovers. They assure me I won't miss a connection if I run into a delay. Plus it gives me time to find my gate, eat, nose around a little, read, etc.

I do, sorta. I like about an hour/90 minute layover. Just long enough to not worry about missing a connection, and short enough to not annoy me.
It worked out nicely on my return trip from CO Springs on NYE weekend. The flight from COS to DIA that was before mine was delayed enough (and my flight was delayed) that I actually got on that previous flight, since it was close enough to my original departure time. Of course, a 2.5 hour layover at DIA wasn't the best, but they do have a decent bar/smoking lounge, and an NFL game was on at that time. So it wasn't bad.
gmann- I ain't buying you a drink. Maybe I'll give you my Baltika that I'm getting from LWB. I think that'll suit you just fine.

I had a layover at Newark airport of over 12 hours (after catching the red-eye out of Seattle). That was horrible. Of course, that was the day that Miracle on the Hudson happened so it is understandable. Ironically, I was on the same route and flight number of the Continental Connection flight that crashed in Buffalo latter that year.
