Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

It was the flight I chose. And sadly it was the best option. Other choices gave me long layovers or killed a whole day, or flew me into an airport further away. I guess that's what happens when you have to visit work locations in BFE. I have the same kind of flight schedule friday morning, leave Lubbock at 5AM, but that was done so I can get back for the final 5 semifinals.

and sleep during them?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

That was back in January.
Pie Day

It can be Pie Day whenever I want! And pie doesn't even have to be for dessert! For St. Patrick's Day, I'm making shepherd's pie...

And I am catching a break: Thursday I meet with my new advisor so I can officially change my major to culinary arts.

Woo hoo! :)
Good luck, 'Bob!

I actually like having long layovers. They assure me I won't miss a connection if I run into a delay. Plus it gives me time to find my gate, eat, nose around a little, read, etc.

There is that thought about it. How often do you hear of somebody scrambling across the airport to make their connection.

Good Evening, Lodge!

I got my beer supply for the Final Five today. 8 bottles of Baltka to share. $2!

goldy: I got your beer, too.

I try to spend the least amount of time in the airport as possible.

I do, sorta. I like about an hour/90 minute layover. Just long enough to not worry about missing a connection, and short enough to not annoy me.

It worked out nicely on my return trip from CO Springs on NYE weekend. The flight from COS to DIA that was before mine was delayed enough (and my flight was delayed) that I actually got on that previous flight, since it was close enough to my original departure time. :) Of course, a 2.5 hour layover at DIA wasn't the best, but they do have a decent bar/smoking lounge, and an NFL game was on at that time. So it wasn't bad.

gmann- I ain't buying you a drink. Maybe I'll give you my Baltika that I'm getting from LWB. I think that'll suit you just fine.

I had a layover at Newark airport of over 12 hours (after catching the red-eye out of Seattle). That was horrible. Of course, that was the day that Miracle on the Hudson happened so it is understandable. Ironically, I was on the same route and flight number of the Continental Connection flight that crashed in Buffalo latter that year.

Hell, I'll give him a pair of tickets!

you're giving away mine? You jerk! ;)

I hate them. Of course, I do like one every 4 days, so I get frustrated. When I'm laying over, I'm not getting paid.

That's kind of creepy

Before any response or whatever is made, I'll vouch for Almsy in being fair, and will sorta vouch for dx as not being a doosh (hey, only hung out with ya once :p).
