Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

I see Brent shut down the board last night after the Gophers game. Kind of glad I couldn't get on.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Sorry Brent, goldy, Commie, mel and any of the other Gopher fans out there. I hope I don't join you tonight, but it's probably 50/50 at this point.

If the Terriers don't make it to the Garden, I may look into following the basketball team, wherever they're seeded, or maybe follow the women's team to the Frozen Four. Or maybe I'll just go shopping or so something completely non-hockey (or sports) related.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Good morning lodge.

That was some awesome hockey last night. Now I have to pack stuff up to go to New Mexico tomorrow morning. After that: Final Five!

s'upp y'all

IMHO (and please MN fans don't take offense as I call it how I see it) Last week when MN was at BSU I witnessed a very uninspired hockey team in that of the Gophers. MN was undisciplined and they were a team that time and time again failed to execute basic hockey fundamentals. Furthermore, I was not impressed with Lucia. The product on the ice mirrors the guy behind the bench. What a sad state of affairs for such a talented group of young men and a program such as the U of MN. I spent some time with a couple parents of U of MN players as well. They did not have kind things to say about the direction of the program. Last night while watching the UAA game I could not help but notice how many open seat there were. Some changes need to be made within the program but I honestly don't think anything will be done in the short term. Good luck with that letter though..

sounds like the echo in my head.....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Greetings from "the happy this abortion of a season is over" hockey table. Yuck.
Off to the Landmark Center for day one of a several day St. Paddy's Day extravaganza to watch my daughter Irish Dance. Best thing about Irish Dance, dad can get himself a Guinness and/or Jameson while he watches. :)

RE: The empty seats

I was at Mariucci this weekend for both games. My friend and I ran into one of her coworkers Friday night. He's a season ticket holder and was talking about how he might ditch them next year because there's going to be a seat rearrangement, partially based upon donations to the Williams Fund. That line of discussion led directly into a comment about the number of empty seats growing, and who's not showing up. Apparently, according to a conversation this guy had with some U of M officials, it's not the Corporate owned tickets that go unused. It's just people who either had other plans made or have been, more or less, protesting the team's performance over these past few years.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

It's official. There's now a perfect counterbalance to what I felt in 2002. It is what I am feeling right now. Complete utter despair.

For the first time in 11 years, MN will have a team completely devoid of NCAA tournament experience next season.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Money has not and won't be the issue. Back in early December he made some nasty comments. If I had to guess I would say that he is ready to make his apology (about 90 days after the fact). If you want more wild rice you don't have to be right. You just have to ask.....
I was kidding. He must want something- it isn't like he has cared about what anyone thought before. So my guess was either he needed cash because the rental usnits shut him off or because the rental units aren't happy he was a toadstool.

Come say that in the Maine thread, the apologists don't believe it
Was following along this weekend to catch the scores. If I was Timmay I would be scared to go out in the dark. ONe goal and the rope was out, lynchmob was activated. Went downhill from there

Happy Birthday Handyman!!

(HH too early in the am. :o)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

tossing out the idea of attending Hockey East playoffs next year. Am I welcome?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

This is horrible, this idea...

I reckon it would be less horrible than the thought of attending the ECAC's in Atlantic City...

Off to the YaleWhale for game 3. Hope last night's shenanigans don't come out in force tonight, and the referees learned how to properly officiate a hockey game, or else more players will be injured.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

If I was sitting at the *table (which I am not because now I have Mr. back for the spring-sort of) I would kick you outta there- if you are still viable then you celebrate!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! sunday. day of rest

If you kicked me, I would probably just fall over. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Go see the UNO thread for more of my rantings and ravings about it.
Ah.

Evening, Lodge. For getting hardly any sleep last night, today's been a good day. Having PB and banana stuffed French toast for dinner doesn't hurt, either.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Well, it's looking more and more like I'll be joining those of you at the * hockey table. It's really bumming me out. Maybe I'll look into heading to Tulsa to watch the Terrier hoops team this weekend.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

On my way. How many martinis can I have tonight and still make it in to work tomorrow?
