I don't get it, they talk about killing gophers, and working with cattle is weird or something. To me, that is exactly how I grew up. On that same note, I found out when I was visiting home this past weekend that I had a new calf during the week it was -20 degrees. She survived the cold and even kept her ears, that should be a strong calf.
True man, we should double date with the twins. ;).

Also cool with the calf as well.

Wait, are you two now going out with the farm girls AND a calf???:eek:

I thought those kinds of things only went on it Wisconsin and North Dakota!

Farm girls, yes. There's not much better than a country girl, they know how to have fun. The calf, I'll leave that to someone outside of the sacred boundries of the Mississippi/St. Croix/Superior/Rainy/of the Woods/Red/Traverse bodies of water and the Iowa line.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

After a wonderful ski weekend in Breck, we made it back to town in advance of the nasty weather which has been forecast to hit Denver later today and for the forty-eight hours following that.

The conditions on the slopes were terrific as was the weather. The fact that the fifteenth edition of the X Games was being held in Aspen took lots of skiers off the slopes as some of those folks headed to Aspen to spectate rather than ski.

Some of my wife's family joined us for the weekend and we had a great time. The bump skiing was fantastic due to the massive snowfall Breck has had all season. Imperial Express, the Lake Chutes, Volunteer, American and Peerless had VW sized moguls and we spent most of the weekend carving turns in them. There's not much that beats skiing bump runs on cloudless, sunny days in Colorado. We'll be in town this weekend for the home and home Denver-CC series before heading to Vail the following weekend to ski with my brother and his family when they make their annual trip. Have a good week all.:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

You can't find the/your pohl? THis is a problem!!

How did this slip by? is the gutter empty in here?

Bakunin was hibernating and I was at work.

Afternoon, Lodge

Patiently awaiting the already-dubbed "Groundhog Day Storm". They're calling for 10-15 inches, but I'll believe it when it starts piling up.

10-18 is what I've heard here. I'm hoping for a power outage at the office.

You went skiing in women's shampoo? That sounds kinky. ;)

Now they are talking about 20-25 here. Yikes. I have over 2 feet on the ground right now. Mr doesn't think the roof needs to be raked off. We will see. either really bad things are going to happen and I get a new porch or he is right.

Good morning Lodge.
About your rep: the YAP, or Yard-A-Pult, was something from back in the early days of the Rep Lodge. Used it to fire rep into poster's yards.

Evening, Lodge. Even more dishes are done, floors are swept, cats' litter has been changed, and dinner is in the oven. Can I relax now?

You used it to employ the illegal Guatemalans living in your basement. By the way, I think those are the hooligans now causing trouble in Cairo.;)

Homemade pizza and tossed craisin salad for dinner this evening. The weather guessers are saying five to ten inches of snow for Denver tonight with accompanying minus twenty-five wind chill readings. Brass monkeys beware!

Yes.

Dinner is finished and waiting to be served.

Today was a good day. Woke up and we had heat. w00t! Got the annual boob squish early in AM and everything is all good. Big yay! (mum's mum died at 47 and mum was dx at 47.) Hold my breath every time. Traffic was not as bad as it could be to get there. Last time 1hr 45 min to get there. Today 54 minutes. They took me early and I was out the door 20 mn after I was supposed to be there. In the past it has taken a few hours. The parking gate was up so it cost me less to park. On the way home did some shopping of the recreational variety and took myself out to lunch. Made Sugar Cookies for Lil and his buddy. Made them happy. Now to read my book after dinner. Sigh. Life is good.

Yay! That's always a sigh of relief.

My amusement for the evening: watching a certain new Tech graduate sit at the dinner table with a letter in front of him congratulating him on his 4.0 last semester realize he's about to try to eat soup with a fork. Night = made.

Sounds like I'm going to put in an offer for the farm, should cost a bit more than a half mil.

The roof should be fine if it is evenly loaded. You might have problems if it all blows off one side and drifts on the other side, since they aren't designed to handle large uneven loads.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

The TI is not centrally located, it's at the north end of the strip. That said, I've stayed there and liked it.
I guess I was comparing it with Stratosphere which I was considering, but 1) its waaaay north, and 2) it got pretty mediocre reviews.

Via the Map it doesn't seem like its that far from the rest of the big names.

Technically the Stratosphere isn't on the strip, as its north of Sahara Ave.

Homemade pizza sounds good; what did you put on yours?

I wound up making black bean patties for dinner tonight with oven fries. Tomorrow's dinner is going to be pork chops and apples with whipped turnips, along with panna cotta for dessert. It will be the first dessert I've had since 2009.
Yes.

I can relax? Thank you!

Sugar cookies sound good too. Been awhile since I've had a good sugar cookie, or any cookie, for that matter.

This made me laugh.
