Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

Just offering perspective. I bet you feel sorry for me that I HAVE to work in MN, too. :D
What I don't understand is why I get sent to Houston when it is one hundred and ****ing 5 degrees with a 95% humidity and then I get sent to Grand Forks when it is -30, working outside both times. Doesn't Hawaii want to buy engines from me, in say...February? Or maybe the city of Fairbanks has a project for me to work on in July? No, it never happens like that!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

So you're not stress testing an engine in GF?

Nope, I've been working on getting an engine ready to run on a new alternative fuel that hasn't been used before. Unfortunately the fuel is produced at UND and the engine has to sit on a pad outside their facility. I'll be coming back up next week to try to start and run the engine on this new fuel. Its actually pretty interesting, if we were doing it during the time of year sane people go to North Dakota. Getting data acquistion equipment to function when it is this cold is ****ty.

edit: And we've officially crossed the -40 windchill mark! According to weather.com. I'm hoping for sub -50, just because at this point, it doesn't really matter anymore.

Why does anyone fly us air?

Because sometimes it's the cheapest on the travel sites?

I wasn't thrilled about flying United, given that Frontier has given me the best experiences flying, but they were the cheapest, and fit my need. The flight wasn't horrible by any means, but they were not my first choice.

Yes, do. I'm sure I'll be on AIM sometime tomorrow night, otherwise prob Sun sometime. Saturday a bunch of us (including Big Poppa and my bro [main reason for the night]) are gonna be blah-hah-hah-hasmed.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

Good Morning, Lodge!

Feeling a lot better today. Just sleepy. Going to work to see how bad it was for the past 1 1/2 days without me. Mind you, the last time I was gone for a 1/2 day, I had a huge stack of papers to go through when I came back. I don't want to know what it is going to be like today.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

Morning!

Days like today remind me why I should be thankful that my city has a skyway system, and that i work in a building connected to said system.

I could have done the same as a federal employee but I don't particularly care that much.

I thought the IRS wasn't going to have the forms ready for another month though?
That is only for itemized returns. Link.

Morning. Headed to Providence this afternoon for SLU/Brown, driving back to NYC, skiing tomorrow then going to see SLU/Yale in New Haven and proceeding to drive back to NYC, then back up to the mountain Sunday. Probably somewhere around 1000 miles for the weekend.
