You know, when I booked this flight my biggest worry was the weather. But it's fine weather for flying. In fact, I've already flown from Milwaukee to O'Hare. Yet here I sit, on my Chicago/Boston flight, still at the gate, due to some mechanical problem. We were supposed to have taken off an hour ago. No word on an est. Time of departure. I hope they're also trying to find another plane while also trying to fix whatever is wrong as I have a bad feeling they won't be able to fix this without having us all deplane.

And naturally, there is a crying baby a few rows behind me. Excellent.

I had a patient who had her tubes tied and the husband had a vas. They got pregnant. One in a million chance~Act of God. Only see that stuff in the Textbooks or Jerry Springer...

But I believe in Ocam's razor more than Jerry Springer. Better chance the mailman got lucky than that the couple got unlucky. :p

so no matter what, there's always the possibility that Quiz and I might have kids unless we abstain? :(

Naw. You can just hammerpunch her if you find out she's pregnant, and get rid of the baby that way.

Almost... there's a final figure called the "pupilary distance"... or pD... its the distance in millimeters between the center of the pupils. Often this is taken using a device... the doctor CAN find this for you but some (according to others) tend not to be forthcoming because a lot of business is made on the selling of glasses. I was able to snare mine when I saw it on the order form outright... sometimes there is a left and right measure but its unusual for it to be substantially different. For instance mine is 29/29.5

That being said, if you can get that figure from your doctor or if you are bold enough to use a mirror and/or a boyfriend to mark the center of your eyes on a sheet of paper you can order a pair of glasses provided the remainder of the prescription.

As a bench mark, I bought a pair of polycarbonate (I think) transition lenses and frames for outdoors... ~$110 total.... if I did that at say, Lenscrafters, I'm sure it'd push $500. If I got a more standard pair it'd be more along the line of $50. What I do right now is I get a discounted pair from my insurance and anything else I'll get online.

I believe the general central "blog" is called Glassyeyes. There are 4-5 main retailers... the basics is that they are made in china than ship to the states. The downside is that you can't see what you look like in the glasses beforehand and you will want to measure your current pair to get an idea of the dimension of the frames.
