United. I think it was a 757. They got whatever indicator light thingiemabob fixed and we landed at 5:15, only about 45 minutes later than scheduled. Made up some time in the air.

I'm home now. The 'rents picked me up and Mom had made dinner. Nice to come home to a home cooked meal like that! Need to unpack and get my stuff ready to go back to work tomorrow. Yikes. I feel like I've been gone a month.

yeah, you guys had about a 120 knot tailwind to boost you along. Sorry to hear about it...did you get Economy Plus?

Holy hell. Maybe I'm just uneducated on the subject, but that seems like one hell of a tailwind (although my initial thought is that it's a exaggeration ?)

That doesn't seem uncommon, I know on my recent flights the captain has actually mentioned the wind speed to us and its generally been over 100.

Happy hockey table with a 5-2 win over Sacred Heart. Oh how sweep it is! Onion and RIP next weekend in the Capital District, hoping to be at the RPI game Saturday. Time to study for a little bit, then my first of 2 tests tomorrow at 8.

he's used to the wave that moves around 20 knots. :)

Seriously, today flying to Wichita from Denver, we had a 135 knot tailwind. It's howling right now.

I think our fire alarm is broken, it keeps going off for no apparent reason tonight. Hopefully that does not continue as it gets late.

Always good to have a safety system be ignored because it keeps crying wolf. :rolleyes:

I guess on the upside, the fire station is only 1 block away if something were to start on fire.

It's what meteorologists refer to as the jet stream - a fast-moving river of air thousands of feet above the ground.

JFC... I know what the jet stream is. I didn't know how frequently it reached those speeds, at that elevation, at this time of year, in that direction, at that latitude, and that longitude.

What Patman eventually got around to saying, and should have been the first and last thing said, go here: http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com/. The guy on that site works you through the ins and outs, tells you about the cheap sites and if there's a special deal going on right now. They even have a few different set of instructions on how to measure your pupilary distance.
