Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 127: So This is the New Year...

After our trip, me and my buddy have decided to go back to Vegas for NYE again next year. We want to get a big group together, which we couldn't do this year, since we planned it after most people already had plans. We are thinking about getting several rooms, or if we can make it work money-wise getting a suite for the whole group. We're starting planning now, to hopefully get everything set and a good group together. Right now, we're leaning towards leaving on Thursday, Dec. 29th and getting back on Monday, January 2nd. We are leaning towards getting rooms at the Luxor, New York New York, or MGM, since those are the places we enjoyed the most. If anyone is interested this far in advance, let me know. You don't have to commit or anything, we're just looking at finding out what a rough number of people going could be. If you are even remotely interested tell me, we're open to having people fly in from all over and feel free to ask friends and put together your own group within the larger group.

Another fun tidbit from my time away:

I had an ingrown toenail, and didn't bother to do anything about it. My toe swelled up to about twice the size it should have been and it hurt so much I could barely walk. Christmas eve I gave it a good squeeze and got about a half a shot of puss out if it. After my family saw it on Christmas they were going to make me go to the doctor, because I still couldn't walk and by this time it smelled like it was rotting. Christmas night I used a jack knife, tweezers and nail clipper to cut out my toenail, it felt instantly better. By the next morning the swelling was gone and it didn't hurt anymore, but it still was full of puss and smelled like a roadkill until about Sunday. Also, all of the skin on my toe must have died, because it all peeled off. It was pretty nasty, but I didn't have to go to the doctor!

Luckily I didn't run into a chick with a foot fetish in Vegas.

edit: and by Sunday, I mean 2 days ago, not the day after Christmas

During my freshman year of college I had a bad one on my big toe, right foot. By the time I popped it the pressure had built up so much that the puss shot across my dorm room lengthwise and landed on my roommates bed. I didn't tell him. We were not friends.

I did go to the doctor and he caulderized it so that now my toenail doesn't grow like it used to. The next year I had a similar situation on the other side of the same toe and had the same thing done so it won't grow. I'm really happy with it now.

you know, I'm somewhere between "that's cool" and "that's disgusting" and "hmm... that'd be interesting if it happened to me"... not so much since i have to walk everywhere... the little boy in me is fascinated.

Why did you take Delta? Next time you go to Vegas take Allegiant...

I don't think they fly out of Minny...or do they? Regardless, yeah, basically avoid Delta at all costs.

I heart Vegas, but it definitely doesn't have the same appeal since I am no longer single

Vegas is utopia for me, even if I wasn't single. I heart gambling. Finding that little edge, trying to beat the odds, the rush of a win, whatever. Not that I'd become a degenerate or make headlines like Barkley or anything, but if I were rich, I'd gamble a LOT of the time.

You'll become one of those social security gamblers.

Morning!

Went to bed at 5:30 pm last night. I think I am mildly sick and that is what made me so tired.

Dinner downtown tonight for The Shots and then on to an eight o'clock curtain as our 2011 theater season begins with a performance of Next To Normal. Alice Ripley, who won a Tony for best lead actress in a musical, is reprising her role as the play's touring company comes to Denver. The storyline is a dark one as it deals with one woman's decades long struggle with mental health.

I hope everyone is having a good week.:)

Is it just me, or has there already been an overabundance of completely assinine newbie threads in D1 this year? Is it already time for this BS to show up? Ugh
