Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 127: So This is the New Year...

Alrighty then. Just came back from going to the 1 yr Mass for my MIL and the dinner that followed with the family. My FIL brought his new girlfiriend to the Mass and then to the dinner afterward. My kid got to meet his Grandma's replacement at her anniversary Mass. Talk about akward! I had met this woman before yrs ago when the FIL lost his first wife. She was hanging around then. When my MIL was sick she was back again sniffing around my FIL and my MIL let her have it in no uncertain terms. Not too much exposure tonight but she is not a comfortable person to be around so far. This shows that a) My FIL has no social graces or a clue what is appropriate b) the new squeeze doesn't either c) my husband is equally clueless because he can't figure out why I am disturbed and d) my kid figured out that this is not how things are supposed to be done and has more of a clue than the other 3 adults.

I'd say that if he has contempt for the church, contempt for his former wife, and contempt for all else involved, then why show up (with some well placed words in between).

I still think this "guy" never stopped being 16... and you know what, nobody's stopped him yet.

SENANICANS! *although I'm a couple hours late. Yeah, WI buddies made me watch the Rose Bowl, so it's been a hardcore Sipper Sat. :D

This isn't a lust thing. He just can't be alone. NO filter tho. Everyone thinks it is sad he can't be alone. I think he needs to learn how to mourn or at least suck it up for a few hours.

Morning. Yay football, then get to have a wonderful (blah) trip back to the Twin Cities tonight. Landing at midnight. Wheefun. Oh well, it was worth it.

What's the difference? He needs some girl to play his mommy?

Stop trying to understand it. It just won't happen. He's a different type of guy than you are, a different way of thinking, and it has absolutely no impact on your life.

Good morning from a crisp Denver, Colorado. Hazlenut coffee, bacon, scrambled eggs and cinnamon-swirl coffee cake for breakfast. After that I'm heading to the gym for a workout and then helping Mrs. Shot take down our Christmas Tree and put away our ornaments for the year. We leave a few seasonal decorations in place until later in the month. Have a good day folks. Happy New Year!

A decent, but certainly not spectacular, job by Denver in gaining a win and a tie against NMU this weekend. The Pioneers do not play this coming weekend and head to Mankato--where it's always a challenge for Denver--the week after that. Drew Shore and Jason Zucker should return to the lineup for that series after having concluded their participation in the WJC. Freshman Beau Bennett--who's missed the past four games due to a knee injury suffered against Duluth--may be back in the lineup as well for the Mankato games.:)
