* airlines. Delayed 1.5 hours in Denver because, and I quote, "we have no plane or crew to get you folks to CO Springs." Um what? Anyway, finally get in, and yay, it's HOME! Like Shot said, it's cold. And the roads are pretty much glare ice. :D

Had chicken cordon bleu (made from scratch), then went over to a friend's and we all shared a bottle of the Balvenie 21YO. On the menu today is some omelettes, football, and apparantly a pub crawl tonight.

And my buddy's reaction as I walked through the door? "What the f?! I was NOT expecting this. You're kidding, right? You really did this?"

Morning!

Went out for NYE for the first time in forever. I usually avoid amateur drinker night. As it turns out, I was right to avoid it. I have never seen a collection of dumber people in one place, and remember I've visited Wisconsin before.

About the only time that is worse is when the F5 is on St Pat's Day. When you see people literally faceplant on the sidewalk at 11am, that's just not right.

Yeah I've seen that first hand too. Some guy last night was chain puking in the mens room by 10 pm. I was like "really"?

Absolutely no surprise that Denver beat Northern Michigan 5-2. Going into the game NMU was the ninth most penalized team in D-1. That ranking will move up after tonight's parade to the penalty box. DU was down 2-0 after two periods, exploded for five third period goals including four PPGs. Bear in mind that Denver's top two scorers--Drew Shore and Jason Zucker are playing in the WJC--and the Pioneers still beat the Wildcats like a red-haired-stepchild on the power play. I suggest NMU either learn how to stay out of the penalty box or vastly improve its penalty killing. An ugly win for Denver, as its play through the first forty minutes was lackluster, but a win nevertheless. Here's hoping Denver acquits itself more appropriately tomorrow night. Adam Murray gave up two PPG goals in net for Denver, but played adaquately other than that. Sam Brittain will be back in net tomorrow.

But it was okay for the refs to ignore the CFB Denver committed on NMU well away from the play late in the third "just to get the game over." :rolleyes:

Happy New Year! Heading to the gym for my daily workout and then to Mrs. Shot's sister's house for a prime rib dinner and bowl games.

Good luck to the Pioneers as they go for a sweep of NMU tonight.:)

Happy New Year Lodge!! Sitting in the lobbyof the Marriott waiting for an available room. Need to shower before the game. A room better open up soon.
