Not so good morning kids. Ugh. I have some sort of nasty stomach virus. I was up all night. It wasn't pretty. Trying to eat a piece of dry toast this morning to see if that settles my stomach. I need to make it in to the office at some point, but I was able to deal with a few things from home. Ideally I'd like to stay home all day but I really should make the effort to go in.

Is there anything I can take? Pepto Bismol or Kaeopectate? Or do I just need to let this run its course?

If the dry white toast doesn't work, try four fried chickens and a Coke.

If it's coming out involuntarily via the back end, pepto will work. If you're barfing, I don't think pepto does anything for that - an anti-nausea med would be needed.

Saltine crackers / 7up / chicken noodle soup broth... those are the things you'll be limited to eating for at least 24 hrs by the sounds of it.

You can try either of those, and stick to the BRAT (Bananas, Rice, applesauce and toast) until you feel better. Oh, and stay hydrated.

Add tea and yogurt to the list and you should be fine.

Good morning Lodge. Feeling much better today. Thanks all for the advice.

Went to the post office this morning to pick up my season tix. They were sent registered mail and arrived when I was in LA. Thank God the game is tonight and not last night as they would have had to print me out a ticket cuz I wasn't able to get to the post office till today. That said...hockey tonight! Only an exhibition, but still...hockey tonight! See you there mookie...will have your poster with me.

Morning Lodge.

Hockey tomorrow night for me - also an exhibition, but still hockey! I will have to miss my kid's tryout scrimmage since that starts at 6:30 across town from Mariucci, probably just as well. Kid made a higher group level than we feared he would so he's pumped. Should make a B2 team, but that's good for him (he has my speed - none ). If he sticks with that group he'll miss the second real hockey game next Saturday with UMass.

He and his buddy are still sleeping, I saw the light from the room where they were playing Wii still on at 3 AM when I got up to go to the bathroom. I need to get them up soon, the local Orthodontics group is fitting Association players for free custom mouthguards today and peewees start at 10.

mediocre sleep with weird dreams for 4 hours is not fun.. my brain rehashs some bizarro version of the night. For some reason when i drink quite a bit I don't get great sleep... I envy you 16 hour post-night out sleepers.

I need the sleep to be honest... I wasn't any more drunk than I've been in the past... but I did a running face plant heading out of the bar and working across a 4 lane road near the capitol building... I'm fine, my hands are scuffed up... I started to dart across the street (no oncoming traffic) and I hit a deviation in the street pretty hard about 2 strides in.

IIRC, you don't get a good night's sleep after a lot of drinking because rather than focusing on rest, your body is busy trying to get rid of the alcohol, and it creates some sort of imbalance, or something like that.
