S'upp y'all.

Gasoline is also a fine weed killer. Cracks in any driveway help channel it well.

I think that all of those who actually entered a 10/1 birthday are at the end. gfmorris appears to be the only one who posts regularly, and he isn't a Lodge member (surprisingly).

Morning lodge. Second day at the "new job". Training, training, training.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

Good morning tLodge and Happy Friday!!!

Heading to NH at some point this weekend, (I want to go up Saturday afternoon, Mr. Hit wants to leave Sunday AM) for a visit with the family for tCBG's and Mini-legal's birthday dinner. Another sign that I have a crazy (in a good way) life, Thex and his new wife are looking forward to the dinner so they can meet Maggie. (They were at her shower too).

Perfect fire: birch bark + pine needles to start the fire. A little kindling to feed the main part, and some nicely cut squarish logs to keep that bastige going forever.

Or if you wanna cheat, just have the logs sitting there, and add Boy Scout Water (gasoline). :D :D

That or a stack of wooden pallets. You get one of those going and you gotta stand back at least 20 feet from the fire just to be able to stand it. Plus, you can put your other wood close to it and have the heat dry it out so that it will burn better later. ;)
Combine the pallets, Thex's pyro friend and gasoline and you can burn the upper branches (Min. 40 feet above the fire pit) of the oak tree that overhangs the fire pit.

That tree was removed before the next bonfire.

If you guys actually think ham lake is podunk, we should really take a drinking based trip to where i grew up...

Ham Lake isn't podunk. Laurium is, maybe, but not Ham Lake. Cool town. My aunt and uncle lived there til I was 15, so I've been there probably a dozen times, one of them being for a week. I wonder if you're close to where she lived.

Speaking of houses, PB & I finally agreed on one. It's a big house, but WAY underpriced, so if we decide in a couple years that we really don't want such a big house, it shouldn't be a problem to resell. Been on the market for about 2 weeks.

Oh, and it has a pool. POOL PARTY.

Red Pepper is overrated. Not saying it isn't good, it's just overrated.

YOU'RE overrated. :p

Toss on a Christmas tree or two. That'll get things going.

or a couch. :D

Morning Lodge. I'm in Denver for less then 24 hours...got back yesterday about 5:30, and I catch a 3:48 flight to Atlanta today for another stretch of 5 days. Yeah, this commute is becoming a real grind. :(

* yeah on the pallets. We did that on class night our senior year of high school. We took about 8-9 pallets out from behind Busch's and just took off. I'm not sure just how we got down the road and to the party in one piece without spilling them all over US-12 out the back of my truck, but we made it. I'm also not sure how we managed not to burn down my dad's bean field, but that was 48 years ago and I'm not worried about that now.

You know how they say in real estate it's all about location, location, location?

You don't have it. :p

Also, pools DECREASE resale value. People don't want to mess with them.

Morning Lodge.

Want a bonfire? http://www.aplaceofsense.com/2009/11/disaster-tamu-bonfire-collapse.html

My buddy, the forester, has a lake place with lots of trees and he builds big bonfires, then we have fish fries sometimes. For those he uses his stash of maple for a nice hot fire and when done cooking he dumps the used peanut oil on the blaze - it flares nicely.

So you can't get a loan for a semester at MTU, but you can get a loan for a house?
