No, and no. She isn't a receptionist or anything either. Physical therapist, that helps people post-surgery, or something like that. She didn't get into details.

Or if you buy in 2004, refi in 2006, then watch your value fall through the basement.

After 6 years of paying in total (and 4 on the refi'd mortgage), I still owe significantly more money than my condo is currently worth.

IMHO condos are a crapshoot, especially in markets like the Twin Cities (not sure where you are ) with very little central core/downtiown housing as a percentage of the overall metro area housing market.

As most of you know, I have started a little something with my waitress friend that has been mentioned previously.
I also was at my buddy's wedding this weekend where, unknown to me, the bride was trying to set me up with her maid of honor. I ended up actually talking to and dancing another of the bride's friends for most of the night.

Recently a girl that I was persuing several years ago started texting me and asking me why we never did this or that or went out to eat at some place. I got mad at her and yelled at her because it was obvious that I was interested, but she was either too stupid or too manipulative to notice. Now she is texting more and more after I got ****ed at her, making it seem like she's interested in me, and frankly I can't ****ing tell with this chick, I swear she's crazy in the head.

I concur with the last part of this sentence.

This all leads up to, I have Twins tickets tonight. I made plans with waitress girl to go to the game. All was good. Then some family emergency comes up and she has to be at her uncles for the week because his deadbeat wife disappeared, leaving him a business and 3 young kids. (for the record, I know she's telling the truth on this one, we've talked about it, she's not just avoiding me ) So I asked the girl from the wedding to go, she said she'd love to, but works the late shift at the hospital she works at. Sooo, I decided to ask crazy chick, and she's free.

You made a mistake here. You're asking for trouble, and NOT the good kind.

Fast forward to this Saturday. I'm going out with my friend and his new wife, like I mentioned a couple days ago. Maid of honor is coming out also, buddy's wife still wants to set me up with her, even though neither of us were really interested last weekend. Other friend from wedding is also going to be there. And to top it off, they all want to go to the bar where waitress girl works.

You should have a cold, or a migraine, or a bad case of the shits this weekend. Unavailable in any circumstance. Neither one of you appear to be interested. Nothing good comes from adding the waitress to this mix. Nothing. Maybe another time, but sure as hell not at that location.

Then all I have to do is just continue to not be interested and just hang out in a group of friends. That shouldn't **** anyone off, as far as I can tell.

Take JF Gophers to the game. You know he wants to go, and in this case, big tits = big troubles. You don't need crazy-lady drama, especially if you're buying a house. She might go Left Eye Lopes and reduce the ****er to smoldering rubble.

Probably the best move you can make here. When you say "bar", do you mean sports bar-type, or trending towards a night club-type setup? If it trends toward the former, you're probably okay. If the latter, you're dancing through a minefield.

Well, condos typically do fine here (Mass). But there were several foreclosures in my neighborhood that just killed values.

That's why if you're going to own for < 10 years, it makes more sense to rent. The cost of the loan + risk of market downturn is simply not worth buying for short-term ownership.

Well, when I bought it I was married and planned to hold it for awhile. I refi'd because nothing was selling (late 2006) and was getting unmarried and I needed to buy my ex out. But yeah, generally you're right here.

BBDL - I think what you just posted is proof positive that there is such a thing as being too successful with women.

Women also tend to be attracted to men in demand. I had a lot of "irons in the fire" before I met my girlfriend. As soon as she and I started "officially" dating, I was getting asked out constantly by some of the same women who had shown tepid-at-best interest before.


Lesson learned? Women make no sense.

Between the moron playing around with my mom's medication, the orthopedic surgeon who repaired a pinched nerve in my elbow and then pulled the first set of staples out too soon, and this guy, it's enough to make me never want to set foot in a hospital or doctor's office again.
