Question for you lodgers.

I've been trying to think of a good gift for my buddy and his fiance for their wedding, and the wedding is tomorrow. Last weekend he told us about their honeymoon plans, they're coming down to "the big city" for a week, going to a Twins game, eating very well, etc. He mentioned specifically that he wanted to go to Fogo one night. A couple nights ago one of the roommates was helping me think of something to get them and she suggested just getting a gift cert. for Fogo, since I already know that they want to go there on their honeymoon. Good idea, or should I not get a gift certificate for a wedding present? I don't know these things....
This is OK. I would do it. Get a Christmas ornament that goes along withthe team as a momento.

One of the gifts I gave once was a picnic basket with a bottle of wine and a bunch of non perishable stuff cos the couple was roadtripping for their honeymoon.
the ONLY thing that should be given as a wedding gift is money. now if you know for sure they are going to this place, a gift card is the same. they can spend that there and have a blast, knowing that most of the evening is on bb_dl!

you have the mookie seal of approval here!

remember:
WWMD

;)

This made me laugh and the next post made me laugh harder.

Survived the day. Snapped at the manager who fixed a few things. I love the nurses I work with!! They are awesome!

Good Evening, Lodge!

I got off of work early today. So today at work, one of the sales personel was giving a tour to some customers and I just glanced over and it was Alex from Ice Road Truckers! It was awesome!

Ugggghh.... NASCAR. Race weekend at MIS this weekend and I had to go by the Track earlier today. The Camp Grounds are already filling up fast.
I had to go to Monroe today. I saw a ton of campers and motorhomes on M-50.
Blame ctf. She informed me via text a couple days ago that she was on her way there, complete with a 1.75 of Captain.

She's about 14 miles from MRG and I. Stevie Wonder has a better chance of finding Waldo than me setting foot anywhere near MIS. I grew up on US-12, literally 14 miles down the road from MIS. Too many mornings in my childhood, I heard "hey, mother****er, throw me a beer!!" at 7 AM on race day as traffic backed up past our house. And then coming back from church a couple times we tried to pass a few cars on the shoulder to get into our driveway not 50 feet from the house only to have some drunk dip**** cut us off and flip us off. Sure, ****nuts, I'm pass you on the right because our family is going to the race in suits and ties and dresses. I hope Richard Petty runs your trailer-trash *** over once you get to the track.

What a horse**** day. Bad day at the office combined with having a headache all afternoon and the DirecTV being out since Wednesday night makes for an agitated Hammer.

When they hold the races at NHIS or NHMS or whatever Bruton renamed it. They actually close access to the highway the track is on from the Interstate to the track on race day. (The breakdown lanes are converted into travel lanes.)The locals that don't have access to a back road either leave town or rent out space in their yards for parking.

Why is your DirecTV still down?

I have no idea. I switched channels the other night and it blipped out. I've tried to reset it about 30 times and it can't pull any satellite signal. I think the box is fried.

The traffic on US-12 is much better on race days now that they've adjusted traffic patterns. It used to be ridiculous on Sunday mornings, as I've detailed below. I don't live there now, so I don't have to deal with it.

That sucks about the DirecTV box. :( We have yet to fry the actual box, but I do have one where the remote won't work with it anymore.

Eh, it'll be fixed tomorrow morning, or someone in tech support is going to be missing an ear, because I'm going to chew it right off their head. Naturally, on a morning where I would really like to sleep off the remnants of a headache, they're going to be here between 8-12. Of course, I'll get up at 7:30 and they'll probably come rolling in the driveway at about 11:20.

Another stressful day of work... like grad school all over again... full day watching a weightlifting meet tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it but I wish I had more time to get the chores and errands done.

Money's always good. At least your friends don't have a 35 page registry at Bed Bath and Beyond...

3 1/2 hours of sleep just isn't cutting it today.
You said it.

Evening, Lodge. Another 5K tomorrow...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift, and uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern. Okay, let's get two! Go get 'em.

Am I the only one who got this??

Greetings from SFO. They offer a free 45 minutes of wireless so I gotta make this fast. Finally heading home after a looooooooong week here in San Fran. Get to the airport 4 hours early and find out my 11:26pm flight is delayed. :( Only 20 mins or so. I hope that's all it is.

Sitting here at a restaurant with my friend Karina....she just said hi to all of you.....we're each having a fire grilled pizza. She's having a glass of wine. I have a headache so I'm holding off on the alcohol. I got a window seat in the front row. I hope I get to keep it. The guy at the ticket counter told me they hold those seats for kids traveling alone, handicapped people, etc. I'm kinda hoping that there are no kids traveling alone on a red eye. If there are, their parents should be reported to Child Services or something.

Chat with you all when I get back to the East Coast!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

You know what I hate more than a screaming baby on an airplane? A screaming baby on a red eye. Are you *ing kidding??? That has to be some form of child abuse. Why are these babies up at 11pm??? They better sleep on the flight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

Good morning tLodge. I am ready for my nap now. I was up at 7:30 today so I can try to get my body clock reset for next week. Tomorrow's goal is 6:30. Which might be easier as I can go to bed early tonight. Last night I was working until almost 11pm.

Good luck to both you and Quiz!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

You were up for an hour and you want a nap? You're acting like one of your cats. :D

I was up until after 3:30 this morning. No reason, just didn't fall asleep. I went to bed shortly after 1 AM and was just....awake. Got my Ipod and listened to that for a while, and finally dozed off. Up at 7:45 and the DirecTV guy is here and should be almost finished.

Is it unusual to want a pizza at 9:30 in the morning?

Legal, check your rep, please.
