Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

You say that like there's another option for a highlight in Wisconsin...:p
Leaving?

Oh great, now the Mormons are advertising. Sorry Misters Smith & Young but in my interpretation of the Bible God told me to use the clicker. :D
I used to see LDS ads all the time when I was a kid. I never knew they'd stopped.

Get the hell off of my lawn!
Is this the final line from the never-made "Air Force One" sequel, "White House"?

One of the very nice moments of the weekend came this morning after breakfast when the owner of the establishment at which we stayed told us she was picking up the charge for our third night's stay. We then sat with her for an hour drinking coffee and chatting. Wonderful place and we'll certainly return, as we do each summer.
Pretty cool, but I gotta ask: how do these things happen to you? Are you nice to people, or something?

Good morning, Lodge! There are now 59 days until the start of the college hockey season.

* morning, Lodge.

Thanks to being short-staffed, a few of us were asked to work longer shifts over the next couple days, I accepted, even though I knew it would be blech. I may have chose poorly.

I call Brent! Forklift tips over on him, his back gives out while lifting a big box, crappy jeep rolls over on him while cutting doughnuts in a snowy parking lot, d-head boss goes postal and shoots everyone in the warehouse or the always popular lung cancer or emphysema. :p

ETA: Can't forget heat stroke or heat exhaustion on a 90 degree/ 74 dewpoint day in the warehouse!

You forget. I'm not a man. I'm a machine. ;)

Or something. :)

Mornin', Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

none of my project co-workers or my boss has been in this week (not true, but the combined time is like 4 hours)... nothing more demotivating than working on things when you feel like nothing else is being done.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

I just had a brilliant idea...it involves me eating Broadway Pizza.

Hm. Closest thing I had to decent food while I was in the cities (got back at 3AM yesterday, so I've no idea why I'm awake already) was Aculpaco's, which wasn't anywhere near as good as I had remembered. IHOP was pretty good though, I suppose. And I had missed Wendy's. And Starbucks.

Fail.

5-8 Club, Matt's, Broadway, Davanni's, Senser's, Green Mill, Ol' Mexico... these are all better choices. Don't know where you were staying, but that's no excuse.

I'd just about kill for some Broadway Pizza. Definitely not missing it next time I'm home.

I'm going to remember this list for the next time I'm in the cities. It might actually be soon, too.

My list is just some places I like to go. 5-8 and Matt's have the Juicy Lucys. Broadway, Davanni's, and Green Mill tend to be known for their pizza, but have other options, as well. Senser's is a sports bar - 16 or so screens... *drool* Ol' Mex is in Roseville; I've only been for lunch, but they have a pretty good buffet - because nothing screams afternoon productivity than getting one's fill at the Mexican lunch buffet. :)

Chains have their place, but I like to try fairly local eateries if I can when in a new place. Or, at the very least, someplace I've never been before.

Example... we went to Friendly's when I was down in Ohio last week. I believe it's some sort of chain, but I'd never been, so we went there.
