Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

Morning!

I should know by 9 am if I am doomed at this job or not. :(

Good luck.

Good morning Lodge. Getting ready to leave cityslickerville.

Good morning. :)

My wife and I saw a terrific performance of South Pacific last night. It's the Lincoln Center Theater production touring company, with David Pittsinger as Emile de Becque and Carmen Cusack as Ensign Nellie Forbush. If the production comes to a theater near you I highly recommend seeing it.

Well on the upside I still have a job. But on the downside I don't think I am going to be happy continuing in my current role.

So I should probably make an effort to change departments sooner rather than later.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

I just got this link http://www.woehr.de/en/projekte/budapest_m730/index.htm in an email. It's about an elevator system for automatically parking and retrieving cars. I can see the disasters when someone forgets to apply a parking brake and a car rolls off.

The link is safe for work.

Well, it looks to me that the pallets there have enough of a groove that they would keep the wheels from totally rolling off the pallet if that happen. But I could still see somebody getting some really smashed up end there if they forgot it. I would have to wonder if the system has some sort of idiot check for that, a rapid shifting back and forth to see if the parking break is set.

For those of you who have followed the debate in Bemidji regarding the beaver sculpture. Below is an exceprt from a letter to the editor that I found quite humorous.

"Having accepted the merit of this particular objet d’art, what will we do when the next artist wishes to convey his reverential vision of the Mississippi, Father of Waters, perhaps with a depiction of the male genital anatomy spewing sacred waters over the Walk of Art viewers? Once the precedent has been set, what recourse will there be? It’s all art, after all. Just wondering."

Morning Lodge.

Continuing the absolutely obscene amount of drama that is unfolding in Twitch's family, sister Twitch went to MedExpress to have a sinus infection looked at and ended up admitted to the hospital with a fast heart rate. Fun.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

Honestly, it didn't really hurt that bad really, other than when the lady ripped it out it did smart quite a bit. About four hours later though it did get a bit annoying tingling feeling there.
You'll now have a new appreciate for waxed (or unwaxed) lady parts, I bet. I think every dude who wants his gf to have her lady parts waxed should have it done just for the sake of comparison.
My boss just emailed me to ask if I would consider going back to working 1st shift. Um yeah... I'd really like to have a normal life. Or more normal anyway, 1st shift is from 6am to 2pm. Right now I'm working 2p to 10p. So, keep your fingers crossed for me.

'night all, it's bedtime for me. :)
Good luck - hope that this works out. I'm sure it would make life a lot easier.

I read your "this link is safe for work" and then the name of the company and was totally confused. Who names their company Whore company? Ooops. :o

Yay for still having a job! Boo for not being happy. :(

Clearly the writer hasn't ever been to Italy. They have statues peeing all over the place.

:( Thoughts in your (and her) directions. :(

Bought my GRE book today (3 weeks before the test :o) Spent about 2 hours reading through them on the floor of Borders today. On the plus side, I finally got to use one of the 1000 coupons they send me every month.

New bread attempt rising on the counter. Packing some more of the kitchen and the storage room today. *blech*

Hi, Lodge. I'm a redhead.

I can't post my response to this because I'm at work.

Looks like Sister of Twitch is going to be okay, just waiting on a test so she can leave. She didn't have any idea anything was wrong until next thing she knew she was being whisked off to the hospital.

That explains how she was able to afford a Mercedes. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

Is this like having a blond moment where now you are a crazy ****ing *****, or did you get your hair dyed? ;)

Both. Mostly the dying thing though.

WHAT ?!?!?!?

Calm down. It'll be OK.

Good to hear! Keeping the good thoughts coming, though.

Hi, Lodge. I'm a redhead.

Cool. :)

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, since my company moves at the speed of molasses at winter time, Maggie will probably be born before I have an answer about changing my shift.

Nah, that's one of the pains that only women should have to endure - like childbirth :)

My wife convinced me to let her wax my upper back/shoulders once. It was kind of like the scene in 40 Year-Old Virgin - what with the shouting, cursing, and bleeding.

Afterwards did you turn in your mancard for a) getting waxed and b) screaming like a little school girl during the process? ;) :D :p
