Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 116: Who's to blame for the lack of a new thread this morning?
It's been quite the month thus far. My wife and I hosted 10-12 members over various factions of her family while in Breck of July 4th weekend. Four of the people who stayed with us are my wife's cousins and their two daughters, the older of whom is getting married tomorrow in the cathedral adjacent to the Brown Palace in downtown Denver.
Mrs. Shot's cousins have been in town all week and each night various and sundry groupings have assembled for outings on and about the town. Last night's adventure culminated in an impromptu dinner for twenty-five, [yes, 25] at our favorite downtown Chinese bistro.
Tonight, the groom's family is hosting the rehearsal dinner for one hundred people. The bulk of those attending are in the 25-30 year old category. There's an open bar. It's a warm steamy day. It's a Friday night, in the summer, in downtown Denver. Glad I'm not picking up the tab on that one.
Tomorrow afternoon is the wedding followed by a dinner reception, for one hundred forty people, at the Brown Palace. The bride and her parents got the idea to hold the reception at the Brown Palace from me and my wife as that's where we held held ours when we were married and they were guests in attendance. The father of the bride is a successful industrial engineer who oversees construction of power plants of all types in major cities just about everywhere. He does quite well
[$$$$] thank you.
My wife is happiest when she gets to be around large gatherings of her family, so the last week and a half has been, and today and tomorrow will be, real treats for her, and me too.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
