Business major or not, it still depends on the course AND the professor. ;)

An A in word processing with Judy 'I worked for NASA' Endsley is not an A in an accounting or finance course. :p

Haha touche, but still..
My easy A in Intro to Business had a lot to do with my success on the major project, which had a lot to do with the extreme lack of it by other groups.

Intro to Business is not a real class. It is meaningless busy work. ;)

You cannot brag about any success until you start hitting your 2300+ level classes.

I agree. Even though I took it at lowly OCC. At least the instructor was interesting.

My Business Law I class is almost a joke. Again, at least the instructor is interesting. She's on crack or something, I think.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 116: Who's to blame for the lack of a new thread this morning?

My 6 day vacation is over... back to work tomorrow. And what did I do over the last 6 days? Oh, just gutted both front rooms and the stairwell (filled a 12-yd dumpster in the process)... in this sweltering heat!

Helping hang sheetrock yesterday was by far the worst experience of my life. Between the heat, the dust and the lack of breathable air I thought I was gonna die. I tried wearing a mask for the dust (and my emphysema) but it was just too hot and very hard to breathe through, so I just took my time and hung my head out the window whenever possible.

This project started as just 1 room but since we wanted to open the stairwell the contractor said blowing through the 2nd room wouldn't add much to the cost except for materials (if we did the demo and helped him with the rest). "We" turned out to be "me" for the most part.

I don't plan to, I wasn't bragging about that one. lol.

The test will be when I take 2500 & 2700 in the fall (and EC2001). And then 2110, 2300, 3200 & Stats in the Spring. *puke*

Afternoon Lodge.

In the continuing merciless destruction of Twitch's hometown, GM just sold one of the last semi-successful businesses in Saginaw (Nexteer, formerly Delphi) to the Chinese.

Saginaw, Michigan as everyone once knew it is pretty much history. :(

EC2001 is cake. Get Jim Gale - he has a lot of cool stories, like the one about selling bull sperm to the Russians :D

Stats isn't terrible, but you're most likely playing Grad Student Roulette on that one so who knows (or heaven forbid, Beckwith )

3200 is the biggest joke of a 3000-level class ever assuming Mari Buche is still teaching it (she's really nice and way too smart to be teaching that course, the material is just dull). Stats is pretty straightforward if you keep up with the homework. 2500 with Joel will fly by so long as you show up every time, listen to his hilarious stories, and take good notes. 2700 is just one big semester project.

The real test will be when you take 2300. If you don't get Warrington, then be prepared for a long semester.

Econ will either be easy or hard for you. I've found there's little in-between and it's a matter of how much you enjoy the subject and how good you are at basic arithmetic and comprehending graphs.

3200 will actually be with Huang... :/
I actually don't have 2500 with Joel, I have 2300 with him.
2500's with Henquinet.

EC2001 is with Oliviera. :/
Stats will be with Beth Reed, who always teaches it these days.

Huang must be new. Accounting with Joel, would actually scare me a little.

I know nothing about Henquinet, but at least you didn't get Orozco.

Henquinet's actually a visiting prof in the Humanities department.

Yeah, accounting with Joel does seem frightening, but I want to take a class with him, so that's what I've got. haha

While we were hanging out at the putting green.... Two little a-girls hugged. One named Mina and one Nicki. We resisted the urge to clap (polite golf clap of course) :D

My Wednesday being Friday just became my Wednesday being Wednesday at around 9:00 this morning.

I have way too much work to do.

Too much talk about crappy tech courses!

I'm strongly considering buying MN Wild 20 game plan season tickets...strongly considering meaning I clicked the purchase button but it had taken too long for me to enter my info on my BB so the tickets were released...I may be buying tomorrow at work.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 116: Who's to blame for the lack of a new thread this morning?

Went and visited my 82 year old grandfather today. He had a major stroke in November 2005 and has been paralyzed in the left side ever since, plus a couple mini-strokes and a blood clot on the brain since. He's sleeping an awful lot now. Dad estimates that he's sleeping 16+hours/day. He went to sleep after dinner (just before 7 PM) and he'll sleep into mid-to-late morning, somewhere around 10 AM. They'll get him cleaned up and he'll have his breakfast and take a nap, then lunch, then a nap, and he's usually up from 4 PM to after dinner. At least he's not in that much pain now that they've made a change in his meds. He's not complaining that he's cold (when the thermostat is set at 78), and he's not as difficult to deal with when it comes to getting him up into his wheelchair and getting him fed.

He started sleeping a lot more just before last Christmas, before they made a change in his meds. It's been coming for a while now, and if he's sleeping as much as I think he is, it's going to be sooner rather than later. At least he's got the family nearby, and the caregivers are really good to him. It's a minor miracle he's lasted this long.

Anyone ever been to Toronto? My college pals and I are going this weekend. We've got a pretty healthy list of sites and stuff to do and see already (HHoF, Jays game, Gretzky's restaurant, CN Tower) but I'm curious if anyone's got some more interesting suggestions.

I'm expecting someone to list off all the strip clubs in Toronto, but don't bother. :D

One of you needs to wear this, and someone else this, and try to get a tour of Maple Leaf Gardens and/or Air Canada Centre.

On a more positive Toronto note, you could seek out Harold Ballard's grave, and give it the finger (I will not advocate grave desecration, but should something worse happen, I don't think many people would mind).

The only things I've seen in Toronto are the Hall and the SkyDome. The Hall is amazing. Probably not as grand as the MLB HHoF, but the amount of history inside is truly amazing. And the trophy room is simply awe-inspiring.

That's impressive. There are some dedicated runners who train there. Running the stairs in the amphitheater is a real test. I suggest a round or two of drinks at the Old Morrison Inn after your session.;)
I sprinted up those *'ing things after having four beers. Piece of cake.
