Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Please keep the fingers a-crossed everyone.
Will do. I hope you get it so we can find out. :p
Anyhoo, now that my Jeep is all registered I'm going to be a ****** and get custom plates (they're only $30 in Alaska so everyone has them.)
 Apparently Massachusetts is the only state where its exorbitantly expensive to have vanity plates.
DITTY

Then, when anyone asks about it, you can sing the PK Ditty for them. :)
This is awesome. I second this suggestion.

Hello, Lodge. Busy days these days with this new class. Also, I think I broke or chipped the bone in my left middle finger where the finger joins the hand. It's pretty painful to the touch and is different feeling than that area on my right hand. Unfortunately, since I don't have health insurance, I'm just dealing with it. :(

Off to study for my exam (and yes, Monday was the first day of school - we have an exam every Thursday).

Vanity plates are lame. People with neat little personalized vanity plates should be round up, put on a big bus and driven off a cliff.

You're not clever, knock it off.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Here at the SOx game with dad. Gorgeous night for a game. Dice K pitching like crap. Not the reason for this post.

So, we have seats 5 and 6. When I get to the seats, a lovely older couple is sitting in seats 7 and 8, I can tell from listening to them it's their first trip.to Fenway. Anyway, top of the first, this couple comes into the row. When in front of/passing by me the guy says to the couple "we have 7 and 8 but we'll sit in your seats 9 and 10." Instead of immediately them "No, we have 7 and 8" the husband says to the wife "don't we have 7 and 8?" She pulls out the tickets and I glance over and see that they do.

I wanted to nicely tell them to tell that other couple they were incorrect because when the people who actually have seats 9 and 10 show up, they will be standing in front of me and my dad while it gets straightened out.

Sure enough, the people with 9 and 10 show up, get stuck in front of me and my dad while the conversation takes place to figure out where that second couple is actually supposed to sit. Turns out they were supposed to be in seats 7 and 8 in row 3. We're in row 4. Thankfully all this happened between innings and not while the game was going on. Why can't people read the row and section numbers that are pretty clearly marked???

So definitely try not to flunk out now, mkay? :p

Haha, I'll do my best. I've been going to the classes already this week just in case I got the loan, and it seems like it should be manageable. Chem is SO much better in the summer, no orgo included, no iClickers, no ARIS (the devil.) Other than that, I'm taking Revisions & Intro to Psych.

The rest of my summer's going to suck, but hopefully it will be worth it :)

Revisions is pretty easy, depending on your prof. Most will let you redo your assignments all the way up to the end of the semester - that's the whole point of the class.

Intro to Psych is really cool. Who do you have, Amato?

Also consider Psychology as a minor. The classes are pretty easy and lots of fun - helps preserve your GPA if you have a rough semester in the works. As another little bonus, when I was there I found in the handbook that Tech allowed you to waive your gen eds if you took a minor. So you can take a bunch of gen ed classes and get nothing but credit for them, or you can take a bunch of Psych classes and get a minor on your sheepskin to show for it. Did I mention that lots of hockey players like to take Psych classes? ;)

People are idiots, dear. I've started to find that when older people retire, they think that they don't need to use their brains anymore. I've had one couple tell me that now that they've retired, they have a simple job, one "that doesn't require any brain power". It's all I can do to tell them, "that's about all you can handle. You have your head so far up your *** that your hair is brown".

Scarlet: feel free to say that I won't get a job this fall. ;)

The hell is ARIS? As for Revisions, hopefully your teacher doesn't act like she's constantly drugged up like mine was.

Evening, Lodge. Parents are out of town on a trip to see my sister, BIL and their twin boys, so I have the house to myself. This would be much better if I didn't have to work all weekend. :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Already am minoring in Psych, ol' Twitch. :) Was going to take it in the fall w/ Amato (my dad worked a lot with her when he was at Tech) but now I'm taking it with Brill.
Psych classes and my Management electives coincide veryyyy nicely.
Revisions, I've technically got credit for, but I need me a relatively easy A.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Work sucked today. there's a whole bunch of details that nobody cares about with regards to a project of mine, and then there's a woman in my office. She started yelling at me today when I had done nothing to provoke her all day, telling me to shut up. Her rag days better start tomorrow because I don't know if I can let her act that way towards me again tomorrow.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Hammer, it wasn't the nice older couple I was annoyed at. It was the second couple who assumed that the nice older couple was in their seats. If they had just paid attention to the row number painted on the end seat, or even noticed that the two seats inrow 3 were open, we would all been better off. Well, you guys would cuz then you wouldn't have to put up with my whining. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

I (and PB, I suppose) got the loan!!

Congrats! Now go out and buy beer on your newly acquired money. :D

Good Evening, Lodge!

One full day of taking over the department and I am right about to go on a killing spree. I am sick of tying up loose ends the people were morons from the get go.

I would like one, but I wouldn't try to be all clever with it. It'd either say THERUBE, RUBE, or HOVEN.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Brent - one of the trivia questions tonight was "who was the first pitcher to throw a no hitter at Fenway Park?" And the answer was George "Rube" Foster.
