Soccer has one redeeming quality, it induces a nap even better than golf. Hell, I just flip by soccer on TV and I start to suffer from sudden onset Narcolepsy.

What you like to do with dead people is none of our business.

I had a small version of the "Back Catalogue" one, as well. Got it in Guitar World, I believe. It was a fold-out accompaniment to the cover story on Storm Thorgerson (the guy who designed all the covers), around the time they started re-releasing all the albums.

I just love all their stuff. Even the kinda not known stuff (see: radio fan), like Atom Heart Mother and such. Unfortunately, I don't play it as much as I should anymore. All of Floyd was a constant rotation in college, so I kinda got burned out.

Did you ever read/get the fanzine? There was a thing in the Division Bell tour, where some random fan was saying certain stuff was going to happen on the tour (such as phrases showing up on the light board/video screen, etc) and it happening. Also, this writer told of certain secrets/hidden pics in a lot of the posters. Turns out it was a member of the band. Mason, I think. It was awesome; this "conspiracy/hacker/insider" thing had the mag going crazy for quite a while. :D

My only two Floyd posters were

a) the naked women, with their albums art on their backs
b) graffiti on the Berlin Wall: "Mother, should I trust the government?"

I love the back catalog one. My mom hadn't ever seen it until we went to my sister's apartment for graduation about a month ago. My sister and her fiancé are very into Pink Floyd.

I never realized just how soccer/"football" crazy the rest of the world is until the 06 World Cup when I was living in the summer dorm directly underneath the international students (mostly Chinese). Outside of class, they were glued to the TVs in the lounge. I'm convinced they had to be pried away twice a day by their RAs, just to make sure they didn't completely miss mealtimes.

A co-worker of mine is married to a Mexican woman, and he did a church mission down in Mexico with his family. When the US beat Mexico, he tried to tease her about it a little. He slept on the couch for a week.

I'll be at Brit's on Saturday afternoon trying to rile up both the real and fake England fans.

Should be a good time! :D

My sister and I were in Paris after the 2006 World Cup semis and before the Finals. It was the first time in quite a while that France had advanced to the Finals and I've never witnessed a parade/party/riot like we witnessed the night they won (and I went to the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox riots). It was totally insane, but there wasn't any violence - just lots of singing and drinking and flag waving. For 'diva - it started down by the Louvre and went all the way up the Champs de Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe. (link for non-Francophiles)

Whoa. Wow.

One of my coworkers will be there with you. He's started tweaking out at work about it. The rest of us just start giving him s hit about it. He's one of those idiots that walks around calling it "football" and expecting the rest of us to know he's talking about soccer. Freak.
