Similarly, every athlete that plays for a team named "Wildcats", "Catamounts" or the like is a puss... er, hi. :o
You could say they all like it, instead. :p

Hello, Lodge - spring cleaning today. 4 loads of laundry done, tidied up the living room, kitchen, and some of the bedroom. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Yay! Happy Weekend! Celebrating with Baltika. Dam you Brenthoven for introducing me to it. I thought I had 4 bottles in the fridge, then my mom told me one has water in it. I thought I had 4!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

I'd be worried if they weren't! :p

I generally have burgers cooked rare. Every once in a while I can detect the least little bit of movement in the burger, but not enough to crawl off my plate. ;)

I'm just back from the gym. Heading for the shower. Gonna turn on the tube and watch the second round of the PGA tournament from Parker [which we'll be attending tomorrow]. Mix up a frozen marg or two and relax.

Enjoy your holiday weekend Bob Katz.:)

I would, but I can't. and I'm not necessarily talking the women

Mmmm... Baltika...

In the next day or two, I may have to start moving homebrew beers into the fridge. :D

I have to party with you more often, but that means I have to drive up there. I am too lazy to do that.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Greetings from Fenway. Was walking to my seats with my dad and who comes out of a side door? Larry Lucchino-president of the Red Sox. I went up to him so my dad could say and tell him he's been a season ticket holder for a bazillion years. It was a fun little moment.

Beautiful night for a baseball game. I think I'll be getting an ice cream.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

No, he didn't but I think he was kinda hammered that night. :)

Still bottom of the first. It's 3-0 Red Sox. VMart with the festive Latin music hit a gapper but with his bum toe he could only make it to 2nd. Knocked in two. The Beltre singled and he couldn't make it past third. Then Hermida gets caught looking at strike three.

if only there was an express lane from MSP to PIT for our northern friends to cougar hunt....

scarlet, did he remember you? i believe when you met last time he told you that "he loves you"... no?:p
There was a Sex and the City premiere going on in downtown MSP last night. Two of my work friends and I are all sitting at the Rock Bottom Brewery on Hennepin Ave, and we keep seeing all these women walking along the sidewalk, all dressed up, but none of them were going into any of the stage theaters. Normally they're all going to some stage show or another right around that area. We had no idea why, until after our single beer turned into four hours later, leaving the bar, and one of the ladies hit on the one guy's wife. We asked what was going on, found out, and instantly lost a lot of respect for all those hot chicks we saw dressed to the nines. It was a shame, really.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Royals lead off with a single. Seriously, a whole between innings break and you three idiots have to get up while the game is on??? I hate that.

Wakefield just threw a 65 mph knuckler. I think I could have hit that. Crap. Another single. First and second, one out. Betancourt flies out to center, two down. Royals look like they might try a double steal. No need, as Wakefield walks Kendall. Bases loaded for Scott Posednik. This is not good. Let's see what happens......fly out to left! Whew.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Someone's going to need to start the next thread soon otherwise I won't be able to keep my play by play going.

Mike Cameron leads off the bottom of the second by flying out to right. Brings up Scutaro. He doubled down the left field line in the first, and scored. Now? Stuck out. Pedroia up. Oooooo, a little chin music.

Tampa Bay and the Yankees both winning.

Full count, Pedroia flies out deep to left.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Ah, nuts. Wakefield running into trouble here in the 3rd. Lead off single (again). Next batter flies out. DeJesus with a double to knock in a run (there goes the shutout) now he walks a batter. Two on, one out. Grounder to Beltre, he steps on third for onen should be an easy DP but nooooooo. Next batter singles and now it's 3-2. Thanks Beltre. Six hits for KC now. Yay. Pop up to 2nd,ending the inning.

The White Sox now leading Tampa Bay 2-1.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Let's see if the Sox can answer. Meat of the order up. Ortiz up - he got a hit in the first, knocking in a run. Pops up to the infield. Youk with his 2nd walk of the night. And it's festive Latin music!! VMart hits a 2-run shot into the Sox bullpen!!!!! ZOMG!!! That helped. I wish they would have played more festive Latin music.

JD Drew lines one back to the pitcher. Brings up Beltre. He needs to do something good here to make up for that fielding mishap. But he neglects to do that. Inning over, 5-2 Sox.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

JFC that inning sucked. I go to get ice cream and Wakefield gived up, like, 5 straight hits, two runs score. Bases loaded and then a wild pitch tying it at 5. Next batter is up with first open, two strikes, pops up in foul territory about three rows in and a FAN CATCHES IT INSTEAD OF LETTING MARTINEZ GET THE 2ND OUT!!!!! I hope he was tossed because the batter wound up walking to load the bases. Next batter flied out, which should have been the third out and then the next batter hits a #ING GRAND SLAM. See ya Wakefield.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Two men on for the Sox, Pedroia flies into foul territory by the tarp, 2nd baseman runs all the way over...oh sure. THAT fan allows the KC player to make the catch. Two outs. Ortiz up. Full count. Strikes out. *sigh*

Oh, and the two seats next to me were empty till the very end of the top of the 4th. It was 8:35. How do you miss an hour and a half??? And then they got up to go JUST as the pitcher was throwing to Ortiz with the 3-2 count. I said "Can you wait till after the pitch??" JFC.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Good God. Two more hits for KC in the top of the 5th. Atchison is not faring any better. Fifteen hits for KC tonight.

Not sure how much longer 1e're going to stay. It's getting chilly.

Well, would ya look at that - a double play to end the inning.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Naturally the Sox go down in order in the bottom of the 5th. Let's see if Atchison can get the leadoff hitter out. That has been a problem tonight. Yay. Fly ball to center.

Huh. Strikes out Maier. Now it' Betancourt, who hit the grand slam last inning. Base hit. That 1-2-3 first inning is but a distant memory.

Kendal grounds out to second to end the inning. Well, it wasn't a 1-2-3 but it was good enough.

What is with those marriage proposals on the scoreboard?? Just saw another one. They just tack them on there, no camera shot. What if the girl is in the ladies room or something? I would hate it if a guy proposed to me like that.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Cameron up with 2 outs hits a single off the Green Monstah that would peobably be a homerun in many other ballparks. He steals 2nd but is stranded there. End of 6, still 9-5 KC.

Ramon-don't call me Manny-Ramirez now in to pitch for the Sox. And continues the tradition of letting the lead off man, Posednik with a double to the gap in left center.

My dad says hi to all of you.:) He's been wondering what I've been doing all night.

JD Drew with a great catch off a sinking liner for the first out. DeJesus up. He's 4-4 tonight. Can Ramirez get him out?? Please?? Yes. But Posednik over to third. Ramirez falls behind in the count to Butler, who is hitting .362 in the 7th inning or later. Interesting stat.

Sox fans trying to start the wave. I hate the wave.

Another wild pitch and Posednik scores. Unreal.

Some guy in my row is actually taking pictures of the wave. Why?

Finally. Strike 3 and the inning is over.
