Indeed. The bf even urged 'ewe to get out and jog yesterday. He's also trying to eat healthier - given free range to select a menu for Friday night, he chose a nice Salmon filet, rice, and sugar snap peas (with no butter).

(Saturday and Sunday's meals weren't quite as healthy, but baby steps.)
That's good to hear! :)

He does now - we're doing the Couch to 5K program together. :)
Good for you!

kinda true
Just because you can drive a stick in an automobile does not mean that you can drive a stick in an 18 wheeler. That is a completely different animal. Double-clutching, clutchless shifting, 18 speed-3 range transmissions....
Well, yeah. But how often do any of us non-farmers need to drive a semi? I think there has been two times in my entire life where I've even ridden in a truck that big.

Personally I usually buy cars with a manual transmission because I can't justify spending the extra money on an automatic. There have been times I have regretted this -- just about every Friday night on my commute home from Boston. But mostly I have been happy with my decision. To me, it's more important to have cruise control in my vehicles than an manual transmission. I hate driving my husband's car long distances not because it's an automatic, but because it doesn't have cruise control.

And yes, I think everyone should know how to drive a manual transmission. There have been times where I was the only one who could drive because I was the only one who was sober and knew how to use a clutch.

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot to highlight this one.

Good morning, Lodgers!

It's an exciting week here at USAFA, kicked off by the Thunderbirds arriving for their airshow practice. I'm surprised there were no accidents on I-25! Graduation day is tomorrow, and about half of the 1,001 graduates will go on to pilot training, and most all of them (flying or not) will see time in either Afghanistan or Iraq.

Godspeed.

Good luck to all of your students who are graduating, may those who have to go overseas return home safely!

I'm off to apply at the DT, the Library, & the Ambo, armed with a sundress, a slight bit of cleavage, and a smile. :p
Wish me luck!

You lead a charmed life. Let's see how cozy and comfy you are after this coming weekends adventure you mentioned in rep ;)

Regarding beverages...........I have been a loyal fan of Crown for many years. (even though I rarely drink these days) I am thinking about trying something new this weekend. Makers Mark. Where does that show up on the whiskey chart?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

So, I just made a loaf of banana bread. Does this make me a bad person? (does it matter if I made for myself and not to be brought to work as a gift for a co-worker?) :p

Might not make you a bad person, but I'm now laughing thinking of threads from the past.

Yeah, you're right, most wouldn't ever have to drive a class A truck. I tried to teach my cousin how to drive the truck last fall, since he's working for my dad on the farm now, he's 17, a small town football star, and thinks he's hot ****. Some gear grinding and a couple stalls knocked him down a few notches. I made him slide over to the passenger seat and drove it home myself. :D

Makers Mark shows up right between "Awesome" and "Amazing" on the whiskey chart. Good choice.

Heat Index in Houghton: 102
Heat Index in 248-ville: 81

What's wrong with this picture? ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Yes. And no desire to learn either.

You are incorrect in that assumption.
So, you don't know how to drive a stick, and have no desire to learn, but you know what it's like to drive one?

The only time I'd rather have an automatic is in traffic. My assertion is that sitting in traffic is relatively rare for the average driver.

Setting that aside, I've still seen no good reason to not know how to drive a manual.

G'afternoon Loj. It's a schwetty one here in the 518. Just got asked to MC the Hope Ceremony for the ACS Relay For Life my team is participating in. :)

Your normal Tuesday, eh?
It would seem normal if it was Monday... Tuesday's are usually ok! ;)

You should have Hoven come out as a "Logistics Consultant" and straighten shiat out with your dock/warehouse crew. He's always up for a road trip
If there's one thing I know around here it's that you can't trust those fork lift jockey's!

Hide the tattoo! :p

Makers is a man's whiskey. Very good in the grand scale of things. Awesome for its price. It's my go-to bourbon.

I'm working through a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 yr old. It's not half bad, either.
