Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Good morning. Springtime in the Rockies continues. The weather has "improved" from yesterday's scattered snow flurries to an uninviting, gray, damp day with temps alleged to be heading to the low 50s.

On the optimistic side of things the temps are supposed to reach the the low 70s by Sunday, beginning a run of seven or eight consecutive days in the 70s. Golf weather returns.

One last note. As a lifelong Montreal fan I must add===> how 'bout them Habs! First Washington and then Pittsburgh. When the playoffs began my hope was that Montreal wouldn't be swept by the Capitals. I never saw this current success coming. I'm encouraged about Montreal's future by how well Jaroslav Halak is playing in goal and the unexpected proficiency of the team's offense.

I grew up in the era of the NHL as a six team operation. Just for the sake of discussion, if Boston wins game seven versus Philadelphia on Friday, Boston, Montreal and Chicago [three of the Original Six] would be in the conference finals. I don't remember the last time three of the final four teams were Original Six franchises.

Hang in there LODGEONIANS as the weekend is in sight.;)

Happy 13 May, everyone. I've always liked this day.

I have 45 essays to grade before I go home today. I can't remember if my watchword is "thorough" or "slipshod". I'll let you know around 4:30 PM.

It may be hard to believe, but my work computer may actually be slower than my personal laptop.

edit: Brent: I don't have to work this weekend, so I'm definitely in tomorrow night. I'll probably come over sometime after work like you mentioned on facebook.

Checking in from school, even though class is no longer in session. Study session for Genetics from 9-11 and for stats from 1-3. Cranky and not feeling particularly good today. And I have a 5+ hour drive home to PA tonight (that I'll probably start around 6pm).

Ewe, Safe travels back to PA. Be careful.

The fact that three of the original six might be in the conference finals is cool. That is the ONLY good thing about the Habs winning. (Sorry, I'm a lifelong B's fan.)

I hope your day gets better. And at least you're driving home on a Thursday, tomorrow night's traffic will be worse. :o

Agreed. Though a Habs-Flyers ECF would be disastrous as far as my ability to root for anyone. I'd root for both WCF teams to go to the Stanley Cup games.

True - and the Sox are off, so it'll only be Celtics traffic, so I'm hoping that if I leave at 6, I should be free of most traffic. I'm just cranky today.

Okay ladies, so in the informal poll I'm conducting I can mark two votes wildly in favor of the Habs going to and winning the Stanley Cup finals. Correct?

:D

You can make it three, tCBG hates the Habs more than he hates the Yankees. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

I was in college.

Back from track a bit ago but not thawed out yet. Damp cold sux. I got to be meet recorder. My hands were numb!! I am very proud of Lil. Last 2 times he has placed 3rd in the 1/2 mile partly because he runs really smart and partly because he runs with a lot of grit. I didn't realize just how much I missed being involved in track. Mr thinks I am crazy.
Good job Lil!

Did you just call tcbg a lady? :D
Um, no, I don't believe so. :)

Pretty sure he's male... :o :p (or at least, he was this morning)
:o He was when he was a baby, I assume his parts haven't been swapped out in the meantime. :o

So, I got a call from the doctor's office with the results of Monday's blood test. No big surprise I'm slightly anemic. (see, children really do suck the life out of you! ;) :p ) Since they don't deal with a lot of pregnant women there (I think my doc deals with mostly older patients) they are sending the results to my OB so they can figure out if anything needs to be done about it.

And, if the Wings had beaten the Sharks, we'd be discussing the potential of an all-original 6 Semifinal round. How cool would that be?

As it is, we might have to settle for just two of the Original 6. At least that still leaves the door open for an Original 6 match up in the Cup finals. Off the top of my head, the last Original 6 team not called the "Red Wings" to win a cup was the Rangers back in '94.

I'd root for JVR. I'd root for Carcillo...to be beaten to a pulp.

That would not be cool. It is never cool if the wings win. This is a much better situation.

She didn't...but, even if she did it's her little brother. She can call him a girl if she so chooses. :D

Interview has been moved up to 12:30 tomorrow. I apparently get to tour the facility as well. :)

Some of us only acknowledge an original 12! ;) :D
