Morning Lodge

Coordinated a big project for the house this past weekend. We're redoing nearly the entire exterior. Roof, gutters, soffits, fascia and siding. I called one of my life long friends who's in the trades for recommendations on who I should look at to do the job. He immediately said he'd bid on it. He's been a finishing carpenter for the last twenty years, but due to the tough times he, like many tradesmen, will do anything. His brother is a GC and is coordinating the whole thing at "friend" prices. Not that it's going to be cheap, but it has to be done. Having those guys doing all the work means I don't have to take off work while it's being done. I've known these guys for nearly forty years. :)

I was lucky that a hail storm forced my hand a couple years ago. The insurance company paid for my siding and gutters.

I wish. Kurt (the GC) actually looked up hail storms in my area for the last two years thinking we could get insurance to kick in something. Nothing doing. :(

But a week or two after you complete the project, look out! :(
Remember, Murphey was an optimist. :)

I'm certain of it. :(

As it was explained to me, the vinyl siding is pretty vulnerable to wind and hail. We thought about going with something tougher, but realistically we're outta there in 10-15 years. Since I'm in the last undeveloped part of Plymouth, all of us out here will undoubtedly sell to developers who will raze all of our homes and put up more McMansions.

Morning Lodge. I'm very sad this morning.:( I tried to help out my fellow man by posting a link to a new OSHA guideline in the UND offseason thread and I got neg repped for it! You'd think they'd appreciate my help in guiding them on how to fill and place sandbags.

Is it official yet? Will you be able to get a "Fighting Sioux Dad" shirt before they retire the nickname?

He's a Jr. so he won't apply until next fall and unless something changes dramatically in his thinking he will be heading to da forks. Since he has a pulse he's not too concerned about being admitted. :p

I'm holding out for a "Fighting TBD Dad" tee-shirt. :D
