Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

It's about pea-sized - so there wouldn't be much of a scar from removing it.

I had one removed a couple of weeks ago. Although it turned out to be a sebaceous cyst. it was close to the size of a jaw breaker. Either way I had to have it removed in order to, uh, sit more comfortably. :o
You know you've got something going on when three different doctors look at something on you and all three of them, say "interesting"

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses...HIT IT
"Oh, we got both kinds - Country AND Western!"
"New Oldsmobiles are in early this year..."
Four fried chickens and a Coke.
How much for the women? I want to buy your women.
:D I have a pair of Blues Brothers boxers with that line.
Well........I guess you're really up **** creek.
"It wasn't my fault!"
The Blues Brothers = academy award for "best movie, ever" :p
I bet board has SCMODS.
So, whaddya think?
Fix the cigarette lighter.
They broke my watch!
And the line is: "Illinois Nazis? I hate Illinois Nazis!"
That ain't no Hank Williams song!
Orange whip? Orange whip? Orange whip? Three orange whips.
Every time I go to Milwaukee I go across the bridge, now completely built, that the Illinois Nazis drove off of.
You people are quite cool. Really quite cool.

Jake: "I told you it'd take a while to get there!"
Murph: "What's the name of the place?"
Jake: "The name of the place? It's, uhh...Bob's Country Bunker. Here we are!"
Still raining here in Denver. I hope the weather is bright and sunny in your neck of the woods and have a good weekend. :)
Well it's not bright and sunny here! I woke up to four inches of snow and counting. But it's Friday, and that counts for more.

Good morning, Lodge!

It's a safe bet that no one here will EVER ask to see your scar. :p

Morning, Lodge.

Grits are awesome. Anybody hating on them has just never had them prepared properly. Shrimp and grits is heaven on a plate.

I learned a lot about these types of cysts this week, since I have the start of one on the back of my neck.

If you end up having to get them removed and they don't get all of it, it can grow back. :( You usually only get them removed if they become infected and are large, red and nasty.

Apparently the outer rim of it is like saran wrap and can easily break off and not get removed. Also the external size of it is not an indicator of its actual size. It can be quite large under the skin but barely show at all externally, and vice versa.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Whereas lipomas are free-floating under the skin, so you can literally grab them and know exactly how big they are. Sounds like sebaceous cysts are better cosmetically to have, so long as they don't become infected.

**** the aging process. :p

If you don't like it, go with the alternative. There are some tall bridges in the metro that should work for you. Try to land on the bank, not the water as you could survive the water. Or you could use the parking ramps at the Mall of America - they have worked well for a couple guys of late. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

I have some questions from what I missed. First, did 'ewe's friend invite her to join in the "alternative lifestyle"?;) Second, is mini-legal a son or step-son of legal's? (not that it's any of my, or anyone else's, business) Third, Bakunin has friends???????
She did not as she knows that sort of lifestyle doesn't appeal to me (despite a touch of "wild youth" over the last few years, I have settled down nicely now).

This. When I was in Baltimore for Easter, I had a fantastic dinner one night of shrimp and grits with a bouillabaisse that was to die for.

Yup - sebaceous cysts are better cosmetically, but they are foul when you go in to cut them out. If you've seen a gallstone over in pathology, picture that, surrounded by a layer of saran wrap and pus, all of which has to be sucked out and the cyst has to be removed. They also seem to form in places that aren't conducive to stretching (on the scalp, near the ankle, tighter skin of the butt), whereas lipomas seem to form in the softer areas (my dad has one on his side (still has a six-pack  but his sides are a bit softer).

Checking in from school between classes. Just filled out an application for yet another loan, this time for the summer. My mom put it best last night when we talking about my brother going to school (he's been accepted to Georgetown - and sent in the deposit - but is getting next to no financial aid and tuition is about 50K): our generation is mortgaging our future. :( I'm a mite bit upset this morning, needless to say. (And it's not because it looks like I'll be attending BC this summer.)

Good Morning, Lodge!

Getting ready for the craft fair/garage sale that is taking place tomorrow. Hopefully I can make some money off of my homemade jewelry.

Gonzo - check your rep.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Morning, Lodge. All this talk of sebaceous cysts and lipomas sure makes me want some of those shrimp and grits. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

And this is springtime in the Rockies:as of midnight earlier today, through six A.M. tomorrow, a winter storm warning has been posted for several counties in the central part of Colorado....including Summit County where Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain ski resorts are located. All of them shut their lifts last week. Oops!:p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

I am in Racine. O & H is the only place to go. Send me your info and I will send you some.

Kringle rules!

I appreciate the offer - My sister in law and two grown nieces live there. We all meet at my mother in law's in Duluth a few times a year and they bring plenty for our visit and more for us to take home. They even send us some at Christmas if we're not getting together that year. I'm trying to eat better, but I would cheat on healthy eating if there was O & H Kringle readily available!

FTR - none of them work at Johnson ;)

I am sorry that they live down here. ;) :p I grew up here and hate it.

Good to hear that the don't work at Johnson. The corrupters of the city.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Afternoon all! The one drawback to working from home is that I don't ever seem to leave. I drove today for the first time since Sunday. :o

Okay, lefse is excellent, especially with either brown sugar and butter, or with lingonberries. My great aunt used to make it on occasion, and it's been entirely too long since I've had it.
What the heck is lefse? and lingonberries?

As I told mark in rep: I found living with someone as self-centered as me helped me grow out of it. I grew up fairly spoiled. I remain so today, but at least appreciate it. Living with a spoiled, center-of-the-world person really taught me how unpleasant it could be. So, while I remain an arrogant attention whore, I recognize it and I'm not as self-centered as before college.

(How many trumpet players does it take to change a light bulb? One, she just holds it up and the world revolves around her)
LOL at the joke. I can relate, as I told my husband last night, I'm still pretty self-centered, I am just a lot more aware of it and know how to keep it in check.

Morning Lodge. Back from a conference that was held where the purple cows play (Mankato Civic Center - for years it had been held in a hotel nearby, but it has outgrown that - I like to think it was my presentation from about 4 years ago that caused the attendance to explode - or maybe it's because I haven't presented since;) ).

I won't answer one, can't answer three, but a far as number 2, um, neither? His dad and I are divorced, and I didn't legally adopt him while we were married. But, as a practical matter he's my son. (when he talks about his mom, he means me, not his biological mother).
