Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #108: Let's see if we can finish this before the Frozen Four.

It's always something this time of year. A couple years ago we had the older woman with the $10K set of titties, and this year we had a woman come in with her husband, and I hope to God they don't have kids. Both of them look like they fell out of the ugly tree, hit every limb and branch on the way down, and landed face-first on the pavement below. I'm not an overly attractive person myself, but good grief.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #108: Let's see if we can finish this before the Frozen Four.

GE, My wife works a four day week [Tue-Fri]. In my job I'm able to set my own schedule, and consequently, I often work longer hours four days a week so my wife and I can take three day weekends [Sat-Sun-Mon]. We take Mondays because we find that when most people "cheat" to take a three day weekend they take a Friday rather than a Monday.

My wife and I ski often and play quite a bit of golf as well. We have found that in ski season the slopes are less crowded on Monday than Friday. Traffic headed back to Denver from ski resorts is significantly heavier on Sunday evenings than on Monday. In summer, golf courses charge lower greens fees on Monday than on Friday. In short, we both feel setting up Sat-Sun-Mon three day weekends is preferable to Fri-Sat-Sun three day weekends.

Having said all that, let's cut the crap: the reason you took today off is the extended Happy Hour at Drunks R Us. Bottoms up!:D
Its extended Happy Hour today! Why didn't I know about this before, I should be there!

I think I remember the boob woman.

Washer/dryer installed, but there is now mud everywhere! :( *sigh*

Yyyyes, F2B&G. And a few rum & coke jello shots.

Nevermind, the respect cancels out when you start eating jello shots. :p

Hey, now, if they were provided by someone else, it's okay. If she made them herself, then there are issues...

ctf... do not MNS on this one...

Oh shut up. Would you turn down free alcohol?

I most certainly did not make them. The neighbor came over with black cherry & cherry ones for us to taste test, and who was I to reject them? I swear, they were surprisingly good.

ctf: what the hell is a rum and coke jello shot, that doesn't even sound good. gelatin and coke shouldn't mix
I felt the same way before I tried one.

any respect I had for you died with this post.
Come on, at least I had the Jameson.

Oh, and my sisters and I decided we're getting Jameson crest tattoos. It's got two anchors, which is our "symbol", and it says without fear in latin underneath. It's perfect!

Random. Hilarious. I love it. I hope you posted this while they were still there.

Exactly. Perhaps some well-meaning friend provided them. Still... rum and coke jello shots? That just sounds wrong.

I tried making jello shots once with a girl I knew (she was dating RC's roommate). We did something either horribly wrong or very very right, because they only tasted like vodka and you were seeing double after about 3 or 4 of those babies.
I think that was the same weekend that I went to a bonfire with a Smart Water bottle of screwdriver that was mixed half and half, and finished it. That was an interesting night, and it was a while before I could have anything orange again.

She's a girl in college, I don't think jello shots are that big of a deal, especially if they were free. We made jello shots at school for parties, we'd make about 1000 of them and sell them for 50 cents each or 3 for a buck, end up making a little cash.

Yeah, this sounds like a rational decision. :p

If it was a GAD, then yes I would politely decline.
This is the correct answer from you.
A girl, however, may have whatever GAD she chooses, because for her, it is not a GAD.

And I believe we'll soon be heading to the Rochester Mills Brewery for some lunch and beers. Or beers and lunch. Depends on the ratio of beers to food. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #108: Let's see if we can finish this before the Frozen Four.

Towards the end of the second game they showed the tubes (PVC pipe) carrying the freon from the rink to the truck (parked on the street a good distance away and 45 feet higher than the ice surface).

Couple minor refrigeration points:

Bet the pipes are polyethylene (PE) and not polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as PVC gets brittle when carrying cold refrigerant and soft when carrying hot refrigerant.

The refrigerant is not freon anymore. Pretty much banned now, so it's a different refrigerant. Not sure which one they'd use for that application, maybe R-410A.

If the truck with the compressors is that far away, they may even use an indirect system with a glycol brine in the rink tubing and all refrigerant in the truck along with a heat exchanger and pumps. If there is too much distance, particularly with the cold surface below the compressors, you often have oil migration problems.

And now, you've all read way more than you ever wanted to on this topic. :)
