Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 104: Back To Normal Sports

Good morning tLodge, happy Thursday!

First day I worked the counter at Arby's (It was summer 2003, I think I was 16), I remember being appalled at the number of people who paid for a sub-$10 purchase with a credit or debit card. That was the first time I realized how many people don't carry cash.
I almost never carry cash. It's just not worth the effort.

I have to carry weapons 'cause I always carry cash.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 104: Back To Normal Sports

Hello from the new phone! Took some time to find the lodge, but I'm nothing if not persistent. Having a bit of an off day though, slept through my morning class and apparently wrote down the wrong time for my Dr. appt. (luckily they have an opening at 1pm). Just feeling off. :(

Wally - good to hear things are improving!

Too bad the games weren't tighter.:(

So that's what the hornet lovers are calling it these days. :p :D

FWIW I rarely carry cash.

Also, just got done filing the taxes. What a hose job.

this little wimpy cold is kicking my ***... sleep was an adventure last night... I'm alert enough to work so here I am at the desk but i can't wait to get home.

With many cashiers these days, it's quicker to zip through a card than to use cash.

Yeah, it's sad how often kids these days can't do 'receipt math'. Particularly common when you try to hand them extra money so you can just get a dollar bill or two back instead of coins, and they get the "deer in the headlights" look. I admit that math was never my strongest subject, but I draw the line at basic arithmetic.

My favorite is the confusion of a total that is $x.77 and I hand the cashier bills and 2 pennies.

Once at a food court I think I ended up paying $0.30 for my pizza. I don't remember the totals but the kid didn't type in how much I gave him correctly, he looked at the screen, knew that change amount was wrong and came up with something different on his own.

I end up using my credit card or debit card for almost everything. Even just a couple bucks here or there. I just rarely have cash on me, and when I do it is because I went to the ATM because I needed cash for a specific reason. I end up spending cash way too fast, while I end up thinking about my purchase and card/account balances more when I use my card, which is opposite of most people, I would think.

I'm the same, I rarely, if ever carry cash. I use Excel to keep a pretty strict budget, so it's much easier to track exactly where the money goes if you check your online account. I also find that I'm more apt to spend cash id I have it onhand.

Me, too! Thanks to some nice person I know. :)

I took it even further and track, by month, five key things I spend my money on. Over half my money goes to bills. :(

I can get basically one radio station without static here in the bunker and it has to be KQRS. Good God I'd rather listen to static than another song from Kansass of the Moody Effin Awful Blues.

Can't stream anything from the internets?

What did you do to deserve such an honor?:p

I dared to tell him to take a hike out of the RPI recruits thread because he wasn't talking about RPI recruits. My way of telling him to take a hike may or may not have consisted of "GTFO."

Was he telling you how bad a mistake Timmay made in letting Derek Arnold go?:p

He repped me yesterday, so he couldn't today. :D It may have been positive since it consisted of the word "nice".

Yeah he told me I had 36000 posts full of nothing and called me a freak.

Oh... If he only knew. :D
