Heading to Duluth tomorrow to celebrate my mil's 89th birthday.

I wonder how easy it would be to get a couple of tickets to the Saturday Gopher/Bulldog game. Naturally Mrs. Gonzo and I would be dressed accordingly. I'd have the Gopher gear, she'd have the Bulldog gear. Might be fun, for one of us.

What a difference a couple years makes. When I graduated it wasn't so much looking for a job, it was deciding which company's offer you wanted to accept. I had offers from CAT, Deere and my current employer on the table to do the exact same job for each company.

Wifely surgeries, loss of employments, endless winter . . . in the words of "Bull Durham," we're dealing with a lot of sh*t. This might be a good time to remind everyone that being a member of tLodge is a privilege, not a right. And sometimes, the tree of teh Lodge must be watered with the booze of brothersisterhood. Tonight, with fond thoughts and well wishes, I raise a glass or two, or five, to you all.

Morning Lodge

I have plans to go look at a bunch more houses on Saturday. So far the ones I've put offers on haven't been accepted, the last one I offered the exact same as another bidder, and they accepted the other guy's offer because he got it in about 2 hours before I did, despite mine being a cash offer.

Dumb sellers, take the cash and run!
Seriously, the way I look at this, if your offer didn't get accepted it wasn't the right house. Good luck with the house hunting.

Good morning kids! Slept in this morning. Woke up to sunshine. Sunshine. Cancelled my trip with weather being a reason and the d@mn sun is out. It is supposed to change within a few hours and get more snow and rain. But I feel like it's not going to be as bad, and I probably could have gone.

Except to get there you have to drive through NH, and from the reports I can get on facebook, it is not good in NH. Half of my friends have lost their power. And do you really want to be on I-89 in the wind they are having?

G'day Loj! The Mrs is home, surgery went well, one less organ to worry about. She is "comfortable", says she just feels like someone stabbed her a few times with a pen, could be worse. She wanted me to thank you all for the well wishes. Hoping the RPI/Colgate game on TV won't require us BOTH to be medicated. Lortabs FTW!

G'day Loj! The Mrs is home, surgery went well, one less organ to worry about. She is "comfortable", says she just feels like someone stabbed her a few times with a pen, could be worse. She wanted me to thank you all for the well wishes. Hoping the RPI/Colgate game on TV won't require us BOTH to be medicated. Lortabs FTW!

So the radio reception here stinks and I can't get too many stations, I forgot how truly bad KQRS is.

When I was a CPE engineer, my first year out of school, optimization is what I did, and all that I did. It was pretty sweet.
