Us too- we are hovering on the line b/w 1-3, 3-5 or more. Hows that for specific?

"The Weather Channel said that Hurricane Floyd was going to hit the coast of the United States in five days, and that it would hit somewhere…somewhere…between Miami…and New England."

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

So my kid's peewee team had a tournament in South St. Paul for Valentine's weekend and their last two games both went to shootout. They then had a tournament in Edina this past weekend and their first two games went to shootout. Four games in a row tied in regulation, after OT and on to shootout. I talked to dads in the arena whose kids have never been in a shootout. One of the games went through all the skaters on the other team and we were on our last skater when it ended (their first shooter scored on his second time around, and our last didn't). On the fourth try they finally won. Our goalie is getting the hang of it. ;)

Better get them started early on that shootout garbage so that way all the little Johnnies and Susies who are no doubt going to the professional ranks can be shootout extraordinaires by then, huh?;)

Hanging out in the library for the next 30 minutes. My first class ended 40 minutes early, which is a very akward amount of time for me. Its too short to go back to my room, but its a fair amount of time to burn when you have no work in particular to do. Thank god for USCHO:o

Hey kids. It's Tuesday. And to pick up on my long ago weekly posts in either HG or TRP - I hate Tuesdays. That is all.

Well, not all.

Bob - glad your mom is doing better!

We're supposed start getting some stormy weather starting later today. I think we'll just get mostly rain (and maybe some wet snow) but there is another storm directly behind this one. That one might be worse. I only whine about it now as I am planning to head up to Vermont on Friday for BU's two games up there. While the weather here might not be that bad, Burlington is due to get about a foot of snow today/tonight and probably more with the next storm. Thankfully I won't be driving, but still....I hate when weather interferes with hockey trips.

Depressing morning when I can look west and see over Lake Superior that the 10 inches of snow we are supposed to get is definitely going to come.

well, I'm apparently flying today. First though, I'm off to the dentist. :(

We're gonna get up to 12 here. I can see the squall lines already starting to form over the lake. Fantastic.

Meh. It's tournament play only. Got to find a winner somehow and if they play on forever it screws up the whole tourney schedule. We could go with SOG as tie breaker which would be great for us, we nearly always outshoot our opponents.:) The State high school tourneys go OT to OT, full periods with resurface and they can take forever at times.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

Good Morning Lodge
Wait a second here. You had a tech class before going to a tech college and you're STILL on academic probation? You shouldn't have skipped kindergarten.
Technological university does not equal tech school, but your point about her not skipping kindergarten still stands. :p

Which they definitely should, the state tourney should never be decided by anything but continuous sudden death overtime.
I saw the same thing when I went to order my gown for graduation and thought ****ing great
Cheer up! You only have 2 and a half months of winter left!

It'd be cool to just sit and watch it come in, but knowing that you'll have no sunlight for the next week is not so cool. :o

The Novocaine makes the landings easier?

For the pilot, but not for the passengers.

Morning, Lodge. It's barely snowing here, I think we're only supposed to get a couple inches when it's all said and done.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

Good morning tLodge.

No snow in the forecast here, probably some rain, but to know that I would actually have to look at/listen to a forecast. Spring is due any day now.

Morning Lodge.

I didn't see anyone reply with Nathan's twitter info. Anyone?

Wait a minit, wait a minit. Because your goalie lost four straight shootouts you're gonna hang him? Okay. Sounds like a reasonable solution to the problem. ;)

Reading comprehension is not a big requirement at PU, eh? If you could read, you would realize that my statement was that we won the fourth shootout, so we only lost three straight.:p

So you shot him after only three shootouts? Seems a bit harsh, even for someone from Gopherville.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

Denver needs a total of four points in its final four WCHA regular season games to clinch first place in the regular season standings. Given its recent history on the road against Mankato, Denver is unlikely to garner those four points this weekend.

In the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons DU won back-to-back national titles. The Pioneers had little success on the road against the Mavs. In what for Denver fans remains an "infamous" game, during the first of the two aforementioned seasons the Pioneers took a 7-1 lead against Mankato before losing the game 8-7. It didn't get much better season as Denver dropped an 8-5 decision on the road against the Mavs. Denver went 0-1-1 the first year and 1-1-0 the following year against Mankato on the road.

Just as there are venues in which teams and/or individual athletes play well, so too, there are venues in which they play badly. In recent seasons Denver has struggled mightily versus Mankato on the road.

I'm sure there are Denver fans who'd prefer seeing the Pioneers earn two points this weekend in Mankato and then return home next Friday night to beat arch-rival Colorado College, thereby clinching the regular season title.
