Detroit Curling Club. I think it's in Ferndale....feel free to look it up. Bowling Green is cheaper if you have enough people, so that's where I've always gone.

Boring day of work today, since I literally have nothing to do all day. Yay for surfing the internet and getting paid!

Last night was fun, went to Williams last night with my lovely wife, she bought us the tickets for Valentine's Day, to watch some hoops (and was reminded why The Barn is such a premier place to watch college hoops) and I successfully avoided figure skating. :)

Also did a good deed, we stopped by Campus Pizza after the game to let traffic clear and the guy who sat down next us was from SoCal. We were chatting for a while and it turns out he was in town because his mom has Leukemia and came to the U to go through a bone marrow transplant. Since my sister-in-law just got her 100 day clean bill of health from the same program I fully understand what he's going through so we picked up his beer. No much but gave us the warm fuzzy feeling, you know. :)

Another rivalry with the Stinkin' BADgers is that both UW and UMN hospitals claim the first successful BMT process.

One of the guys I've worked with a lot on environmental infection control in hospitals was a respiratory tech at the U hospital when they were first doing large numbers of BMTs. The death rate from fungal lung infections was ridiculous at that time. Then we started making those units like clean rooms. This guy goes around the country helping hospitals minimize the mold spores that infect the lungs of those patients.
