Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

This is ridiculuous. I think that we are having white out conditions here in DC.

Anyone want to guess if the Federal Gov't will open either tomorrow or Friday?

IMO, I think they'll open tomorrow. Considering that the metro was cleared and they didn't get re-buried obnoxiously it seems to me they'll be able to get it open.

Today's plan... I'm going to go down to Ballston to grab some lunch and try another place for pool... failing that i'm going to come back home and contemplate on a new gym bag... or maybe I'll decide that now and then find something else to think about.

edit: I will say its lighter than an hour ago when i couldn't see US-50 which is about 500 feet from my window.

Morning Lodge.

Weather wasn't bad here. I'm not sure how many inches we got, I just know getting out of my neighborhood is not easy for my little car. But my commute this morning was fine. 15-20 mph slower than usual, but no problems. I feel like I'm missing out on deathstorm. I'm ok with that though. At least I have enough snow to play in now. I just have to find the time to go play in it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

I think I shoveled about 8-9" out of the driveway and the sidewalk, plus another inch or two this morning.

I shoveled about 4-5" last night. I didn't bother this morning 'cause I needed to get to work....but there's probably another 5-6" in need of removal.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

A decision was made to open our office at 11.

I had a 9 am dentist's appointment in Roseville. I made it there, early, with a trek back to the house because I forgot my billfold. I was here by 10.

Weenies...

You need to recite the Man Mantra when leaving the house
Spectacles
Testicles
Wallet and keys

Although I'd add cell phone too, but it doesn't have the same "flow" :)

Erm... if anyone here doesn't need to recite the Man Mantra, it's a smokin' hot.

Morning, Lodge. Bright blue sky here today, which I do not mind in the least.

How much snow did you get in cityslickerville?

Double post

Mel - Re: Your rep

Agreed on MN road clearing. The day before yesterday I had the worst drive ever coming to and going home from work, 34 miles each way. Today it's like it never happened. 94 was clear as could be. 70-75 mph with no worries at all. Even the shoulders were plowed wide enough for a semi to get over safely off the freeway.

Around my house, 4"-6" It's hard to tell since it drifted so much

ETA - how about you?

8"-10" but with the wind and given that there are few trees in the area it is difficult to gauge. Had three to four foot drifts in the driveway. Usually it takes about an hour to clear all the snow but on Monday it took almost three hours.

 How fast were you driving to have a dentist appointment in Roseville at 9 and make it to work in Michigan by 10?

Haha - I wondered the same thing and Repped her. Apparently there are several cities in MN and MI that share the same name, including the one I live in :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

It started snowing here downtown about 9:30, then stopped. Hmmmm. I'm assuming that it was just a tease and that more is coming, because if not, EPIC FAIL on the part of the weather guys. Heh. I parked my car in a the T garage across the street as I do not know when I would be able to shovel out my car, or when the plow will be there. We'll see if it was a worthwhile investment.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

So I have a meeting in a couple weeks at BSU to pick out my seats for the new arena. The issue is that the arena is not complete enough to get a feel for sight lines etc. I am sure there won't be a bad seat in the place but still it would be nice to be able to actually get in the arena and check things out. FWIW my brother and I will be getting 7 seats.
