Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Driving U-Haul, Budget or some other rental truck? Will you get a car in Pittsburgh?
Budget. They are half the price of the others.

I'll get a car eventually. But i'd say thats at least a year out. I need some stability in my job before I spend any money on that.

Good choice. I've heard and read too many horror stories of terrible service for U-Hauls long distance service, or lack thereof. It also seems their equipment is newer.

'Morning, all. Congrats to 'ewe and wT on the job situations.
And chiming in on the discussions at hand:
~2 mile commute each way. Not bad at all, especially compared to the 22 mile each way I was doing in my truck when I was student teaching/subbing. It took until my last year or so to find a seat in a carpool and save me the gas money.
~Original last name: Gosciewczski. They let the family keep it when they immigrated in, but after a while my grandpa got tired of mispronunciations and struggling to fit it on name badges and forms at work, so we shortened it to it's current version. Hence why I'm not related (that I know of) to any one else with my last name outside of my immediate family.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

So, I know bbdl would/will chastise me for considering this... but the US Men's Soccer team has a friendly here in Tampa Fri night. I'm seriously considering going, if only to say I've been. Hmmmm.
You could also cut your dick off, dice it up and put it in a salad. An added bonus is that it would probably be more fun than watching a ****ing soccer game.

Soccer is more exciting than football, that's for sure. Rugby union has them both beat, though.

You should probably consider laying off the drugs for a while, it seems to be messing with your brain.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Lay off peanut butter, jelly, and water? OK.
It is a very reasonable assumption when you're claiming soccer is more exciting than football. I don't know if I could think of something, ANYTHING that is less exciting than a soccer game...maybe an opera...but it'd be close.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

S'upp y'all

Transported back to 1984 today. Doing disaster recovery testing in an otherwise empty bldg in the woods of Westboro. Entered bldg through two secure doors and a spinning thing with two other doors that were never both open. Walked up to the 2nd fl where my "office" is a huge room with six rows of picnic type tables stacked with desktops and monitors.
Gotta go easy with the porn surfing today :p

Assuming that you are talking about watching, I find golf even more boring.

I love watching the majors. There is no way that the Sunday, back nine at Augusta could be considered boring. That is some of the best TV of the year, every year.

Good morning, Lodge. Maybe the phone will ring with some happy news today.

Okay, now who's been messing with the drugs?

Golf? The best TV of the year? Strip away the personalities from the game and you're watching to see if a ball will gently roll into a hole. At least in soccer there is some physical activity and a faster pace. People could actually get injured during play because of physical contact.

Football is slow, it's boring, "action" lasts maybe 5 seconds, and then they stand around with nothing going on, LITERALLY. At least with soccer, just like hockey, there's constant movement.

I don't consider constant movement exciting. With that reasoning you should also consider NASCAR to be riveting.

that's very interesting I sometimes wonder when you see someone with an American city or other generic name if they had their named changed when they migrated or slightly after.

Actually, there are some families that changed their name during World War I because it was considered unpopular to have a German last name in the USA. Some of my distant cousins never changed their name back after we won; we finally found them in North Carolina because of a common ancestor.

Golf is a good for falling asleep on the coach in the afternoons. :p

True, that was very common among German families during that time frame.
