Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

I was drinking beer and reading a book on the outdoor patio of the sports bar down the street from the hotel, when they brought out a huge charcoal grill, lit it up and started grilling stuff. Turns out, every Saturday night they have a barbeque and run it like an all-you-can-eat buffet. There was pork tenderloin, chicken, salmon, potatoes and veggies. Very good stuff.

The girls here (waitresses from my experience) say "hey hey" as a greeting, just like in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. :p

Still don't care about some clown tightrope walking.
I normally wouldn't care but found myself riveted to the TV watching last night. Whatever you might think, it was a pretty amazing feat IMHO.

A tether?
Required as part of the permit that allowed it. It was the first time he ever used one. It certainly didn't help or inhibit his trek across that wire.

Did he cross directly over the falls or was some camera trickery involved?
Pretty sure he was out over the horseshoe for a big chunk of the walk. Even he he wasn't, he was still out over something that wasn't land.

Supposedly he already has permits for the Grand Canyon... will be about a mile walk at about a 1400' height.

There was a place down in Cottage Grove that used to have weekly pigroasts, in the style you're talking about. I know it used to be a country bar, but I think it started to change over to your standard club a few years ago. I don't even know if it's still around anymore, though.

Nice on the "hey hey." :D

put in for a new job... I need to get out of there or make enough money not to care about working there... or both. Got told that the peer review process can take as long as 2 years... and they're giving me EVERY indication that they want another paper out of me before a promotion for small $. Nope... sorry... going to go and look for $$$. Found a position that looks favorable.

Good luck.

Its morning. I woke up about 2 hours ago. :p

You know what? Eat me. You have a girl, plus are surrounded by hot Swedes, and it's basically a 24 hour clock. Yeah, I want. ;)

See you in a couple days.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Good morning and Happy Father's Day to all the dads in the Lodge. And dads of all Lodge folks.

My tooth, the one I had the root canal on, is sore. I have a scheduled cleaning on Thursday. Wonder if it will still hurt at that time.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Good Morning, Lodge!

Had a great day with my parents yesterday. Spent way too much and they, of course, spoiled me. Going to Father's Day brunch at Granite City. Yummy!

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Morning Lodge.

Looks like a beautiful day here after warnings all week of hot-humid-thunderstorms for today. Having friends over for barbeque. Would rather be on a boat....

I don't remember my Norske grandparents or other relatives saying "hey-hey." I remember that they never could say my brother's name as Joe, it was always "Yoe" to them.;)
