Depending on a few D2 Playoff games this weekend, I would be rolling thru Chicago on thanksgiving weekend. At this point, might be willing to make a stop just to get a rub or 3 in. I'm starting to get desperate on this. Already made a bribary offer to one of my friends if I can get them in this friday. Normally I don't do my pulled pork for home games, as I usually park in the cheap lot and drag my cooler over to my friends vehical in the expensive lot at GV. Carrying a crockpot full of hot pork would just be a pain in the butt.

Let me know, Im sure I could get a couple bodies rounded up. Or maybe we'll have to take a trip to GVSU

That has nothing to do with it. The issue here is that we're on opposite ends of the state.

Actually, I think a lot of the problem for me is that I'm kinda big and intimating to people, even though I'm really just a big old teddy-bear...

Not a problem, I actually prefer male therapists they tend to be a little more...shall we say aggressive...while trying to loosen up my neck & shoulders. Yes I realize this opens me up to the 'you like it rough' jokes

Im trying to entice monster to come here and work on a few bodies, but really Chi-town & burbs does not in fact suck. You should get a hold us when you find out more. What 'burb are you looking in?

Tired of having eggs for three meals a day?

Breakfast = ham and eggs
Lunch = egg salad sandwiches
Dinner = egg casserole
Dessert = eggs ala mode
Before bed snack = hard boiled eggs

I hard boil a dozen a week and put one in my lunch every day. Mrs. Gonzo sells them to the urbanized people at her work. Every Sunday the kids come over for dinner, and the younger two, who share an apt. with a friend, take three dozen home with them. I'm averaging about 16 eggs/day. Anyone comes over - take some eggs with you! And I have a number of people saving egg cartons.
I could meet you in little falls some day and give you a gross if you'd like

My work assignment in St. Louis is now over.

It's great to be home but there are still major issues on the job front. Some of my coworkers recently got laid off which definitely makes a person wonder about their future.

I'm trying to stay positive but it's not looking good. I've been a total team player and made personal sacrifices by living away from home for extended periods multiple times for the good of the office and the company but in the end it may not matter.

Maybe I should make a will design roadways for food sign and hang out at busy intersections. Just trying to keep my sense of humor.

In alot of regards the job situation is out of my hands so I'm going to try to focus on my personal life which has taken some hits due multiple extended work assignments away from home and try not to worry about the job situation.

Hopefully the lodge members are doing well.

I didnt get that job, but they liked me so much they are making a job for me in corporate, which is in Chicago (well actually in the burbs ).

Which suburb? My dad's side of the family are all Southsiders. Family get togethers are fun, since I'm a Vikings/Twins fan and they're Bears/White Sux fans. Especially since on my mom's side they're Packers/Brewers fans.

The only thing that kind of sucks is O'Hare. Chicago is an awesome city.

Fly into Midway if you can. Though I do have two friends at O'Hare Tower...so at least I know that part of O'Hare doesn't suck.

According to people from St. Louis Chicago sucks. But I wouldn't trust them.

Which reminds me of the time I got on the train in downtown St. Louis to take it to the airport. The train was totally filled with Cardinal baseball fans who were about to get off in a couple of stops at Busch Stadium. I firgured I would try to have some fun with them so when I got on I said jokingly "Would now be a good time to try to get a Let's Go Cubs chant going?". The looks I got were like how could you be so stupid to ask a question like that. Man people have a little sense of humor.

One thing I find funny about NoDak fans is when they start telling me how bad Minnesota is yet when I ask them do you root for the Vikings and/or the Twins? They say of course. At which point I get a sh!77y grin on my face and it starts to slowly dawn on them why I asked the question. It's funny hearing them try to explain their hatred of Minnesota yet then turn around in root for Minnesota teams.

I understand that North Dakota has no pro teams so their fans have to pick other teams to root for but it's funny hearing somebody rip on Minnesota while wearing a Vikings or Twins hat.

It doesn't. In fact, I'm actually in Chicago at this very moment! Just got back to my room from McCormick Place. What a huge convention center! Took me a while to get the wireless internet configured.

Heading to dinner tonight with the parents of a former BU player tonight. We're going to Gibson's which I hear is a fantastic steak house.

I just got a rundown today at work on the planned trips for me and my co-worker. Some of them will be both of us traveling, some will be just one of us, and we don't know which are which yet. Here is the list of possible business travel for me:
Georgia
Upstate New York
Grand Forks, ND
Amsterdam
Australia

Try to work in the trips (Grand Forks and maybe NY) so you can catch some hockey

Still waiting to find out. In my mind nothing is in stone until I see and offer letter.

I'm not really sure if I'm going to get to take another trip up to GV after this weekend. Minnesota-Duluth is the one seed in the region and GV would likely be going there next, right after thanksgiving. And as luck would have it, the Bulldog Hockey team also has a bye that weekend as well, so I really wouldn't expect a whole lot of people from around here showing up just for a D2 Football playoff game. And if GV does beat Duluth, its pretty likely we're going to Florence for the Semifinals, as GV is a 2 seed, and North Alabama the Overall one seed I believe. About the only reason we would really get to host UNA is if the NCAA committee decides that they wanna save UNA's field for the Championship game, because they're always the host for that. Thats most likely the reason why UND got the Semifinal game with UNA in 2003.

Might be able to work out something for that friday perhaps. I could probably drive out to Chicago early, and have my usual crew pick me up that night as they swing thru Chicago to Duluth. From the sounds of things, we're just going to do a drive there, watch the game and head on back deal again. I would need to leave my stuff at your place I think.
