Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

I think we've been filled in on the stereotypes from hanging around on here.

And bummer about the Target thing. Did you get the call saying no, or have you still not heard anything and are thus making the conclusion?
If one reads enough on USCHO, one learns these things. :D

True about Edina - I guess that shows just how much of a *ahem* Western bias the board has.

As for Target, no courtesy of a phone call - they emailed me.

As a Wayzatan, we always laughed at the Edina teams (although they usually beat us back then :o ) and would chant "Nouveau Riche" when we played them. :p

Nothing beats a little Hapsburg civil war. :D

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

My concerned home-owner level is at Orange. Got home from work yesterday and my garage door was up. I thought I had put it down. Fortunately, the brand new (bought Sunday) lawn mower was still there, as were the golf clubs and bike. When I went to leave last night I stayed to make sure the door went down all the way, it did, and then went back up.

Investigation led to a perfectly sized rock having been placed at the bottom of the track. Almost wedged, such that how this rock made its way there is very suspicious. Anyway, rock was removed, and door went all the way down last night. Haven't been back yet. I'm a bit nervous as to what I'll find when I get home from work today.

I'll repeat the earlier suggestion for home security. A lot of Michiganders are going that route because of the increase in crime during this recession. If you get home security, make sure they have a secure central station and have a back-up in case the phone line gets cut...basic home security can be easily defeated by cutting the phone line.

You could probably track us all down with a rusty clothespin, a refrigerator magnet and a used copy of Spiderman #32 at this point...

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

I have always felt that Eden Prairie and Wayzata eat just as much cake, if not more, than Edina at this point.

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

The correct answer is both...with a side of Taylor Swift. :D
DL!?!?! Taylor Swift is still a teen :p
Non.....the answer is non! :D
wT: I second the home security system, especially as you're still living alone (despite having the boyfriend over fairly often.)
Absolutely!
Morning, Lodge. Apparently Target doesn't want to hire me after all.
If you really want work, come west. We can't find enough people to fill all the job openings we have around here, and local companies are screaming for engineers.

Could be wrong, but I don't think BPH is an engineer (though a techie).

Indeed not. I know a number of Tech CEEs though - what fields of engineers are they specifically looking for? As for me, I'd consider moving west as a laborer, if I didn't have a good setup in the summer and the seeds of a career in the historical field.

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

Continuing in the Taylor Swift theme, I walked in on my boss (50-year old attorney) singing along to Taylor Swift youtube videos. His excuse, "I'm celebrating her win last night". He was doing this with the door wide open.
