Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

Morning, Lodge. I think I'm working on Christmas cookies today too... probably gingerbread men and split seconds. Maybe some more work on a gift or two as well.

Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

Can't you just go down to the riverside and find some?

I could, but it can be a real pain in the butt to find the right ones. plus trying to match em all to be about the same right size, along with being the same type of stome. Marble works better for cold stones because they hold cold better, you can do tapping with them without it shattering, and with the black basalt ones you would use for heat, it just makes life easier to have the cold stones being a different color.

I might do a little stone hunting the next time I get up to Lake Superior. Theres a few good places to find basalt rocks up there on the beaches.

Well, when your only experience with massage is from the big Men's sauna at Duluth Family Sauna, that's about the answer I would expect from ya.:p:p;)
You obviously don't know what you're talking about. MEg gives him a rub several times a week!

Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

I just read an article about my company's CEO. Apparently he's up for some CEO of the decade award. I guess when he took over the company in 2000 it was it very tough shape, and in the last 10 years he had turned it into the unquestioned leader in the market. Apparently we now have >50% of the market share in our 3 biggest markets, or something crazy like that. 5 straight years of record earnings...stock prices have gone from $12/share to $107/share, with 2 splits during that time. After reading that I'm very, very glad that this guy is leading the company, as he really knows what he's doing. I'm glad I've had a couple opportunities to meet him.

Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

Good Morning Lodge.

Back to DC later this morning.

I passed through DC on my way to Denver this morning. Stopped at Dunkin and grabbed donuts for the flight crew. They were most appreciative.

So I asked the gate agent if he would mind watching my bags before I boarded the flight. I just wanted to run to the bathroom quick. He looked at me like I asked him to donate a kidney. I showed him badge and asked if he would mind. He said absolutely not, you must maintain control of your bags the whole time. I told him I would be right back and that I was crew. He said I don't care who you are.

I've had issues with this guy before, and if he got hit by a truck, I would be happy

He sounds like the type who would file a report, just to be a pr1ck.

Buy him a cup of coffee next time, and supply your own cream.

Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

ew wasn't for that it was for the second suggestion. What are split seconds?

They're jam-filled cookies made with sugar cookie dough. Roll it into four 3/4" x 1' logs, flatten it out so the cookie logs are about 3/8" thick, with a finger-width depression about half that depth in the middle. Fill them with your favorite jam, and bake for ~20 minutes at 350 degrees. Let them cool 10 minutes or so, then cut them into diagonal bars about an inch or two wide and put them somewhere cold to completely cool off.

EDIT: Hm, I suppose I should cross-post this to USCHO Cooks. :o
