Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Hey kids. Back from the Patriots game and my phone/internet/cable is back online so I called Comcast to cancel the service call tomorrow. Thank God. Pats game was fun. It was cold. We left after the 3rd with the Pats up by 14. Heard it got to 17. Then of course we listened while the Colts almost won it in the final minutes. Seriously?? Why can't they just win? Oy.

What? THe Pats won.

No, I meant why can't they just win win. Not have a 17 point lead with 10 minutes to go and then having to hang on by their fingernails to win by intercepting a pass that probably would have given the Colts the game.

Keeps all those fans watching the ads until the end?

Meh, haters gonna hate.

Two more notes before I leave Houghton for downstate:

1) Here is Brent's bar joke. "So, MNS walks into a bar."

2) We went to Perkins and the shakes were on MNS!

BPH said (today on the way back) that the KBC should change the Nut Brown Ale (what MNS was drinking at the time) to Headcracker Ale. :D

Oh, forgot: at the bar I heard someone suggest to the medics that they should cut off MNS' Sioux jersey to improve circulation. :D

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

MNS fell somehow at the KBC and took out some furniture. Some people thought he might MIGHT have been siezuring a little, but they weren't sure at all.

As of right now:
MNS has a broken nose, and a chip of off one his vertabrae (but that is very trivial, I guess; he's not gonna be Cripple Boy or anything). Awaiting test results, but nothing seems to be worth worrying about right now.

The comments among us in the waiting room after I saw him in his hosp room:

Answering RWD's question of how MNS was (via phone):
I told Yager to say "Have you ever seen Old Yeller?"

crazypotatoes: MNS is even hostile and abusive to himself!

Yager: I guess MNS MNS'd yet again.

Me: That's a bad imitation of Michael J Fox, if you ask me.

There were MANY others, and let's just say I'm surprised we're not in hell at this moment. :D
I wonder what the hospital desk people thought of the comments. :D

OK, so here's what happened. Got up to leave and drank the last sip of my beer. Only number 2 so alcohol wasn't really a factor. Went down the wrong pipe, so I started coughing rapidly and really hard (probably what caused people to think I possibly had a seizure). As I was coughing I got hypoxic, and next thing I know I'm laying on the ground with people telling me not to get up. Unfortunately, I didn't remember the coughing part until after I left the hospital and was able to think without being bombarded with 20 questions...so, I have to get checked out back home to rule out the seizure thing. Biggest thing for me now was how this affects my medical clearance at all.

There was literally one other person at the hospital and they STILL couldn't get me out in time to make last call at the DT...
Glad to hear you're okay! Here's to a speedy recovery!

Tired......
You too?

Evening, Lodge. Thankfully, Holiday Taste of Sam's is OVER! You'd think some customers were starving...

Kitchen is cleaned. Laundry is done. Bathroom looks reasonably respectable. Not a bad weekend. I find out tomorrow morning if the computer at the office is fixed. We'll see....

Watching a show on the Travel Channel about steaks. Yeah, that's just what I need right before bed.

Evening, Lodge. This was a... fun? weekend :o I enjoyed myself despite the two losses though, because we definitely had good drinks, usually good food, and always good company.

Oh, and MNS, next time you decide to get a nosejob, try spending more than $5 ya cheapskate. :p ;)

Hey, Les... do you have any novocaine I can, um, borrow. A spritz or two in my ankles would be well appreciated.

I got a meeting tomorrow morning to meet the rest of the staff there at the place I'm going to be working at, along with signing the lease agreement for the room as well.

My wife and I had a wonderful Sunday evening as we spent it in the company of great friends having dinner in their home. I hope your evening was as enjoyable as ours. G'nite all.:)

If you mean by me unwinding watching some football after about 7 hours driving, then yes, my night was pleasant. :p

Thank goodness I don't work tomorrow. I need a day off from my days off. :D

Has anyone noticed if posts from a bit after 6AM eastern time still get delayed, or has this stopped with the new version of the board?

I haven't had a problem but some weird stuff when trying to post. When I was trying to pick the color for this AM post I put the cursor on the grid and all the colors started to dance around. That happens every once in a while since the upgrade.

Morning!

Long 2-day work week commences now! Off to Atlanta on Tuesday night to visit the 'rents.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Morning lodge.

DId a second viewing of the house I've focused on... Found out the current homeowner completed the following projects himself: Downstairs fireplace, hot water heater, the downstairs ceiling, the downstairs bathroom (without pulling permit), all the windows, the hardwood floors upstairs, the carpet downstairs, the deck, some of the cabinetry, and probably the siding. No one, I mean, no one can do all of that right without screwing something up. The worst part is that all of this work looks pretty decent but it's the hidden stuff that I'm afraid of. The plumbing in the basement bathroom, the gas lines and water lines for the water heater. The seals on the windows. Ugh...

I'm starting to back off (although it's probably just cold feet temporarily).
